Prior to his arrival in southern Oregon the service man had just completed a tour of duty with the Air Force in Turkey, Greece, and France. Ho is a former Crater High school student. Mr. Ezell's parents are Mr, and Mrs. Eugene C. Ezell, Blue River, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. William Starzinger, Old Stage road, Rogue River, are Mr. Starzinger's parents. The brides-elect, both grad' uates of Ashland High school, and their fiances all attend Oregon Technical institute in Klamath Falls. Miss Sarah is majoring in X-ray technology and Miss Leona in medical technology. Mr. Starzinger was gradu ated from Rogue River High school and is majoring in medical technology at OTI. Mr. Ezell, a graduate of Mc Kenzie High school, is major ing in highway and surveying technology at the Institute. Both couples plan spring weddings, 4 Miss Cothrin Honored by Bridal Shower Derby - Miss Arlene Coth rin, bride-elect of Steven G. Dcen, was honored at a mis, cellaneous bridal shower held July 20 In the home of Mrs. Robert Davison. The surprise event was attended by more than 30 guests. Hostesses assisting Mrs. Davison with the refresh ments and games were Mrs. Oscar Barlow, Mrs. F. G. Ha worth and Mrs. Charlie Hayes. A bride doll dressed in a pastel blue gown similar to Miss Cothrin's wedding gown was on the refreshment table. An umbrella trimmed with yellow nylon net and yellow and pink rosebuds was on the gift table. Miss Cothrin la the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Amon S. Cothrin, Box 140, Butte Falls highway, Eagle Point. Her fiance was graduated from Rogue River High school in 1961, and attended Oregon Technical Institute at Klam ath Falls. He is employed with the Oregon-Washington Telephone company, White City, and also is a musician No wedding date has been set. Hendrickson-Owen The engagement of Miss Sharon Marie Hcndrickson to James Dennis Owen has been made known by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hendrick son, 408 Beatty street, Med ford. Mr. Owen Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dale Owen, Port Angeles, Wash. miss HenaricKson is a graduate of Medford High school, and her fiance was graduated from Port Angeles High school. Mr. Owen Is employed at Rogue Valley Plywood, White City. No date has been set for the wedding. Visitors Here From Midwest Gold Hill Recent visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter McLean, Gold Hill. were her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Rush, Kenosha, Wis. and Miss Dcbrah Young, Jamcsvllle, Wis. During the visitor's slay In Oregon Mrs. McLean accom panied them to Portland where they were guests of her daughter, Mrs. Margurite MacLeod. Mrs. MacLeod went to Coos Bay with the group whore they visited in home of Mrs. McLeans son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Joe Borsky. While in southen Oregon the guests visited Crater Lake National park, Jacksonville, the House of Mystery, and made trip to Hellsgate and the Galica area. Picnic Plans Are Announced Gold Hill Arrangements for a pollock picnic to be hold Friday, August 16, at 12:30 p.m. In Lampman slate park were made during the July session of Gold Hill Garden club when the group met at the home of Mrs. Walter Mc Lean. Mrs. S. M. Chistensen, pres ident conducted the business session that followed a des sert luncheon served by Mrs. McLean. r.Mcs. Paul Holdcrness, pro gram chairman presented a quiz on animals, apples, and naming of various flowers In conjunction with names of persons. Talk on Orchards Is Scheduled R. W. Gray, vice president of Harry and David's Bear Creek orchards, will give a talk on the orchards at the next meeting of the Welcome Wagon club, Thursday, Au gust 1, at 8 p.m., in the Girls Community club. Plans are being made now for the annual summer din ner for members and hus bands to be held on August 10. Many Engagements Announced McKay-Kerth Eugene A December wedding is being planned by Miss Linda McKay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Miles E. Mc Kay, 607 Oakway drive, Eugene, and James W. Korth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald F. Korth, Pioneer road, Talent. Miss McKay is a recent graduate of the University of Oregon Medical school of Nursing and is now em ployed in the Veterans Ad ministration hospital in Port land. Mr. Korth attended Stan ford university and is now a radar intercept officer in the 123rd Fighter Interceptor squadron of the Oregon Air national guard in Portland. Moffett-Van Orman Hornbrook Post master and Mrs. Wayne Cummins announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss Shirley Ann Moffett, to Richard Lee Van Orman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Van Orman, Winston, Ore. The bride-elect is a gradu ate of Yreka High school, and attended Southern Oregon college. She recently com pleted a course at the Med ford Beauty school, living at the Girl's Community club at the time. Her fiance is a graduate of Montesano, Wash., High school and is a June graduate of Southern Oregon college where he majored in educa tion. The wedding date has been set for Sept. 15 at tl.e Horn brook Methodist church. Classmates Sought For Reunion The Medford High school class of 1948 is planning a 15th year class reunion this fall. The reunion of the class which numbered 225 will take place on Saturday, August 24, at North s Chuck Wagon. Seng-Monroe Central P o i n t The en gagement of Miss Carol Seng, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Seng, Bridgeport, Neb., and Lance Cpl. Clar ence A. Monroe is in the United States Marine corps stationed at Vallejo while Miss Seng is owner and operator of the Central Point beauty shop. Wedding plans have not been announced. Dates Set For Camp Rogue Council of Camp Fire Girls will operate two sessions of summer resident camp this summer. Dates are August 18-24, and 25-31. There are still several va cancies open for campers in the second session, the coun cil states. Girls wishing to attend camp should call the Camp Fire Girls office immediately. The camp fee is $20 a session and a phsyical examination is required. Is Scene of Prospect In an evening ceremony attended by ap proximately 80 guests, Miss Vickie Darlecn Lycett, oaugn ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lavor Davis, Red Blanket road, Prospect, was married to Rich ard Melvin Betts, Prospect. Mr Betts is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William BetU, Crater Lake highway, Pros pect. . The couple were married by the Rev. John Lenker in the Chapel in the Pines church, Prospect, on Satur day, July 20, at 7:30 o'clock in the evening. The bride was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding the bride wore a floor length gown of lace designed with a hooped skirt and fi tted bodice. Sequins trimmed the scooped neck line and a band of em broidered lace trimmed the skirt ruffles. Her bouffant veil was held by a jeweled crown, and she carried a bou quet of white and yellow car nations. Wear Yellow Mrs. George Lycett, the bride's sister - in - law, and matron of honor, Medford, wore a two piece suit of yel low silk. Other attendants, Mrs. Kern Grieve, Prospect, and Miss Patricia Jefferson, Yreka, cousins of the bride, wore sleeveless dresses of yellow taffeta under lace. Yellow silk scarves were fastened at the shoulder by a silver jewel. All tne attendants wore matching white veils and car ried bouquets of white and yellow rosebuds. The flower girl, Debbie Davis, sister of the bride, wore a yellow silk dress trim med with white lace and a white headband of lace and yellow rosebuds. George Lycett, Medford, brother of the bride, served as best man, and ushers were Kern Grieve, Prospect, and Dewayne Wilson, Trail cousin to the bride. The bride's cousin, Kenneth Wil son, Trail, was ring bearer. Pines Wedding The church was decorated with yellow and white glad ioli for the wedding. Miss Frankie Odom furnished the wedding music, accompanied by Miss Jill Hedgpeth. Recaption Held At the reception given by the bride's parents at the Prospect Community hall, the wedding cake was cut by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Wayne Wil son. Miss Kay Jefferson and Miss Odom assisted in serv ing. For her daughter s wedding, Mrs. Davis wore a pale blue two piece suit and the bride groom's mother was dressed in a beige two piece suit. Both wore white accessories and white orchids. Out of town guests includ ed the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Davis, Magna. Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Von Timothy, Utah; Mrs. Velma Jefferson and daughter Kay, aunt and cousin of the bride, Yreka; and Mrs. Helena Edghill, grandmother of the bridegroom, Ashland. Both Mr. and Mrs. Betts at tended Prospect High school, and after a wedding trip to southern California will be at home at Prospect. For travel ing Mrs. Betts wore a peach colored box suit with wnite accessories. Mr. Betts is employed at S. and W. Logging company. 1 ; Montague Methodist WSCS Hold Program Montague - "Crusade Scho larship Procession" was the theme of the program for the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Montague Method ist church when it met recent ly at the home of Mrs. Frank Kouts. Assisting the hostess with Uie program were Mrs. Ruby Stafford, Mrs. Mable French and Mrs. Laura Jones. Mrs. French conducted the brief business session in the absence of Mrs. Harold Coatney, the president. Mrs. Kouts was assisted by Mrs. Stafford in the serving of refreshments.
