The announcement was made by Dr. Leonard B. May field, vice president of the council and chairman of the council camp projects com mittee. Gene Brown, Grants Pass, council president will pre side at the dedication cere mony which will be followed by a no host buffet dinner. The dedication and dinner are open to the public, but those planning to attend the din ner should telephone the Boy Scout office for reservations. Has Full Basement The building is 78 by 24 feet with a full basement. It includes 3,744 square feet of floor space. Dr. Mayfield said nearly two-thirds of the ma terials and labor used to con struct the building was do nated. The year round building will serve as a program plan ning center for summer camp and winter storage space. It also will house the camp clerk and director's offices, trading post, camp communication center, work shop, winter kit chenette and public rest rooms. One room will be used as a hospitality room for camp visitors. The building was designed by Payne and Struble, archi tects, and the construction was supervised by the Batzer Con struction company, Medford. m Short en Time? Higginbotham, route 3, box 232V, Fern Val ley rd., Medford, died in a local hospital this morning. Funeral arrangements are en trusted to Siskiyou Funeral Service directors of Chapel in the Trees mortuary. WILLARD DUDLEY Funeral services for Mr. Willard Lovelle Dudley, 68, of 423 Garfield St., Medford. who died Wednesday, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel in the Trees mor tuary in Siskiyou Memorial park. The Rev. Fred R. Evans of the First Christian church of Medford will officiate. Private interment will follow in Sis kiyou Memorial park. Mr. Dudley was born Sept. 11, 1894, in Tacoma, Wash. On June 28, 1959, in Reno, Nev., he was married to Zela M. Goyette, who survives. Mr. Dudley was a veteran of World War I, having served from November, 1917, until June, 1919, as private first class with the Eighth com pany 20th engineers. In the U. S. Army. He had formerly owned and operated Dudley Floor Sanding Service, and later was employed as fore man of the box department for Bear Creek Orchards pri or to his retirement in 1960. He had been an active mem ber of the ham radio opera tors for several years. He had been a resident of Oregon, and of this community, for the past 31 years. - Survivors, besides his wid ow, include one daughter, Mrs. Verna Mae Ertl, Comp ton, Calif., and one step daughter, Mrs. Beryl Jorgen sen, Midway Island, in the Pacific. It is a request of the fam ily that a donation be made to the American Cancer So ciety. Seeks Motorcycle -The Jackson county sheriff's of fice, state police and Ashland police are searching for a B.S.A. gold star motorcycle valued at $700, taken from the home of Don Miller, 308 Harrison St., Ashland, July 9. The cycle is a model Cata lina scrambler, according to green fliers distributed in the county by the owner. Mealing Set - Phoenix Grange will have their an nual potluck picnic at Lithia park, Ashland at 1 p.m., Sun day, July 28. Members are asked to take table service. Coffee and ice cream will be furnished by the Grange. Father Dies - Ben Allen, 90, whose son, Lois Allen, 30 Western ave., Medford, died in Nashville, Ark., according to word received here. Fu neral services will be held Sunday, July 28, in Nashville with interment In Dierks, Ark. Ashland Fire A mattress and bedding in a house be longing to Southern Oregon college burned Wednesday, Ashland firemen reported. The house was at 403 Palm ave. Cause of the fire was a child playing with matches, firemen said. Thursday announced plans to acquire Rose Marie Reid Corp., Los Angeles, one of the largest manufacturers of women s and juniors' swim suits. Officials said the two com panies have reached an agree ment which will provide for the exchange of stock worth about $2,700,000. The propos al must be approved by the directors and stockholders of both companies. Final merger depends on Rose Marie Reid meeting specified profits by Feb. 28, 1966. In the interim, White Stagg will take over the manage ment and direction of the swim suit manufacturing com pany. The lines maintained by me two companies supplement each other and are not com petitive, officials said. Her husband, James, who I believes that she is ill, has ! asked the cooperation of the ' public in helping locate the young mother of three small children. Mrs. Vanzwol is about S feet, 5 inches lull, weighs I 120 pounds, has light brown ' hair and brown eyes. No foul play is suspected, the sher iff's office stated. Anyone with any information which might lead to Mrs. Vanzwol's whereabouts is asked to call the Jackson county sheriff's department. Rocket Dropped From Navy Plane Salisbury, Md.-(UPI)-A high ly explosive rocket dropped accidently from a Navy plane has been "pinpointed" in a 160 acre wooded area, Mary land state police said today. The rocket was lost Thurs day by a Sky Raider plane which was on a firing prac tice run from the super car rier Forrestal off the Virgina Capes. A Navy spokesman said that the five foot lone, cray- colored rocket fell from the wing of the ship due to a mal function in controls. A widespread search was touched off for the Tiighly explosive rocket and residents in the area were told not to touch it if they came across the missile. Experts from the Navy sta tion in Yorktown, Va., were sent to the area in an effort to retrieve the rocket.
