DUDLEY Witlard Lovcile Dudley, 68, of 423 Garfield St., died at his home Wednesday. Fu neral arrangements are en trusted to Siskiyou Funeral set vice, directors of the Chapel in the Trees Mortuary. FRED E. WAITE Funeral services for Fred E. Waite, 85, of 511 Mae st who died Wednesday will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Perl Funeral home. Dr. George Hoseberry, pastor of the First Methodisi church, will offi ciate. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Waite was born April 10, 1878 in Minnesota. He had lived in Medford for the past 21 years coming here from Reno, Nev. Until his recent retirement he had been a real estate salesman for Darling Real Estate for seven years. On Nov. 15, 1930 in Fallon, Nev., he was married to Junie B. ' Algire, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Edwin M. Waite, R e s a d a, Calif.; Reese G. Waite, North Bend; Conrad C. Waite, Berkeley, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Winifred McKinnon, Sparks, Nev.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Scruggs, Sparks, Nev.; one sister, Mrs, Rena Reich, Oil dale, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harry Roth, Clarence Roth, Clarence Cooper, E. D. Perkins, Leland Goff and Arthur Wininger. DEE VERN HASTINGS Ashland - Dee Vern Hast ings, 67, of 1643 Parker St., Ashland, died at his home Tuesday. He had recently re tired as sales manager for the Selby Chevrolet agency, Ash land. His employment with the Ashland Chevrolet agency as salesman was interrupted by World War II, when he served as deputy sheriff of Jackson county. He was married to Carrie Hubbard in Jacksonville on July 13, 1915. In addition to his widow he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mareene Burns, Duns muir, Calif.; and 5 grandchil dren; one brother, Jean Hastings, Ashland; and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Mieka, Malin, Ore.; and Mrs. Edith Sherwood, Portland. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m., at Litwiiler's Mountain View chapel, Ashland, with the Rev. P. Malcolm Ham mond officiating. Interment will be at the Rest Haven mausoleum. Friends who wish may con tribute to the Heart fund in care of Mrs, Ernestine Hart ley, chairman, Ashland. RATTY Funeral services for Fill more J, Ratty, 79, of HlSVi Niantic st,, who died at his home Tuesday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Perl Funeral home. The Rev. W. E. Mr. Ratty was born July 31, 1884, in St. Francois coun ty, Missouri, He had lived in Medford for the past 39 years. Until his retirement in 1951, he had been an employee of the Medford Street depart ment for 16 years. On June 6, 1812 tn Elvins, Mo he was married to Mary E. Moore, who preceded him in death in 1981. (Dirk) Andersen, community consul tant for the Bureau of Com munity Development Studies at the University of Washing ton in Seattle, is visiting Jacksonville today. He met with members of the Jack sonville Boosters' club this morning and after noon. Residents of the com munity and visitors from oth er cities in the Rogue valley attended. Weather Queen of Water Pageant Named Bend - HOT - Seventeen-year-old Anne Brandis has been named to reign over Bend's annual Water Pageant this week end. She was crown ed Wednesday in the tradition al coronation ceremonies. The queen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Brandis. Her court members include princesses Ramona Adams, Ro chetle Anderson, Linda Mc Phee, and Ania VanGorden. The water show will be presented at dusk Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Deschutes river.
