Summer is here and the city's swimming pools are filled with small children, swim teachers and the sound of splashing and churning water.
At both Jackson and Hawthorne pools lessons are being given for about 200 youngsters under the supervision of the Medford Recreation
department and the Jackson county chapter, American Red Cross-
While two or three groups are receiving instruction, members of the next set of classes line up at the entrance
waiting for their turn to be checked in and report to their teachers. This group of youngsters waited at the en
trance to Hawthorne pool Tuesday morning, with two or three watchful mothers in the background.
