William Wash, pastor of the Medford Church of the Brethren, 345 North Mary st., has chosen as his sermon topic "Ananias Obey ed His Lord at the 11 a.m. worship hour Sunday. He will use as his text Acts 9:13-15. Terry Birman will play as viola solo, "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Sunday evening there will be no CBYF meeting. A num ber of the youth will attend camp at Camp Myrtlewood at Bridge, Ore., which will be gin Sunday afternoon and continue until Friday noon. The midweek Bible study and prayer meeting has been cancelled Indefinitely. Roundfable Topic Is Announced The Minister's Roundtable will deal with the subject of natural evil this week end. The Rev. Charles R. Mc Donald, pastor of St. Luks's Methodist church, will serve as moderator. Appearing with him will be the Rev. Vernon Hanson, Ascension Lutheran church, the Rev. John Reyn olds, Westminster Presbyter- Ian church, and the Rev. Rob ert Tull, Medford Congrega tional church. The program Is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. on KMEB-TV and Sunday at 8 a.m. on KM ED radio. Elder and Mrs. Corwin and their three children are leaving the valley after year of evangelistic work here. Methodists Start Vacation Bible School Monday The annual Vacation Church school held by First Methodist church will begin Monday, July 8 and. continue through July 19. There will be classes for four-year-olds through the sixth grade. The school will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Pre- registration will be held in the church school annex Sun day. A nominal fee is charged. Dr. George Roseberry will preach Sunday on "The Idea of Positive Thinking," at both morning worship services. Robert Sage will assist. Gospel Lectures Set At Lithia Church Ashland-A scries of gospo' lectures will be held at Lithia Church of Christ, meeting at the Women's Civic clubhouse across from Llthla park In Ashland, starling Sunday. The meeting will continue nightly at 7:30 p.m. with Jack Hill. Tulsa, Okla, as the speaker. A number of Valley Sev- enth-dsy Adventists w i 1 spend the ten day period at the campgrounds, where some 1.400 tents are pitched in addition to a number of cabins. Others will attend only on week ends. Local church leaders will be ap pointed to conduct services as usual here in the absence of the ministers, for those able to attend the camp. Gladstone Services ' Services are conducted each day at the Gladstone meeting for all age groups cradle roll, kindergarten, pri mary, junior, early teen, youth and senior. The convocation will re semble a small city, with gro cery store, medical building staffed 24 hours dally by personnel from the Portland Sanitarium and hospital, caf eteria, and Book and Bible store. Church leaders from around the world will give reports from their various fields to those at the meet, Westminster Events Are Announced The Westminster Presbyter ian church meets for worship at 10 a.m. each Sunday dur ing the summer months, and church school is held at 9 a.m. The Rev. John O. Rey nolds will preach Sunday on the subject "Capture Every Thought", and he will be as sisted in the service by Daw son W. Wilke, the seminary student assistant. Classes are available throughout the summer for all ages of youth In the church school. The adult class will lso continue under the di rection of the pastor, with a new theme for July on "The Christian and Political De cisions". Fox, presi dent of the Southern Bible Training school, Dallas, Texas, will speak at the Tnn ity Baptist church. Dr. Fox will show slides of the school and its ministry. Southern Bible Training school was founded in 1927 by Dr. E. H. Ironside as a school where Negroes, regard less of denomination or col lege training, may study in preparation for Christian service. At the 11 a.m. worship service of Trinity Baptist Sunday, Pastor Bruce Rogers plans to speak on, "A Man Who Walked With God". This will be the first of a series of messages on "Little Known Bible People". Mrs. Lester Merriman will sing a solo. At 8 p.m. youth groups will meet and the adults will con tinue their discussion of I Corinthians, "God's Work shop, the Church". Missionary From Japan Is Speaker The First Advent Christian church will hear the Rev. Floyd Powers, one of the de nomination's missionaries to Japan, speak Thursday at a service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Pow ers will also show slides of the work. Mr. and Mrs. Powers are on furlough after their second term of five years on the mis sion field. He was the super intendent of the Japan field and was stationed in the Yura area. Sunday morning the pastor. the Rev. Fred O. Sapp Jr. will give the morning message at the worship service. Sunday school classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. Sunday evening candle light communion will be ob served with the pnstor giving a short communion medita tion. This will be the last Sun day evening service until September. Pastor Returns To Local Pulpit After a Sunday's absence the Rev. John E. Simon, pas tor of St. Peter's Lutheran church, 1020 East main St., will be back in his pulpit for both morning services Sun day at 11 and 8:15 a.m. Mr. Simon spent last week at Portland attending the con vention of his denomination, The Lutheran Church - Mis souri Synod, Northwest dis trict. As such he is the coun seling pastor of the local area reaching from Sutherlin to Lakeview and the assistant of the district college of presi dents. Pastor Simon's sister. Miss Gertrude Simon, R. N., for more than 35 years a mission ary of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in China and Hong Kong, is visiting her brother and family for a few days. She plans to return to Hong Kong late in August to resume work among the dis placed Chinese. In recent years she has served mostly as teacher and deaconess. Moores To Speak At Foursquare The "musical" Moores will present several numbers for the 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. evangelistic services at the Foursquare church, 2200 Rob erts rd., Sunday. The Rev. Wesley Moore will be guest speaker for both ser vices during the absence of the Rev. K. L. Mathewson. The Moores play such in struments as the piano, organ, Hawaiian guitar, bass and ac cordion. Mr. Moore has been in evan gelistic work for more than 22 years. He is the founder of the America for Christ Cru sade and is currently operat ing the new "Songs of Cal vary" recording studio in the Applegate valley. Wednesday, July 10, at the 7:30 p.m. service, the Rev. Tunis Fountain, formerly of Chehalis, Wash., who now re sides in Grants Pass, will be guest speaker. Student Vocal Group Schedules Concert The Singing Ambassadors, a student vocal group from Multnomah School of the Bi ble, Portland, will present a concert Thursday, July 11, at the Table Rock Union Sunday school, located on Table Rock rd., about 12 miles north of Medford. The program will start at 7:30 p.m., according to the Rev. Garland R. Shinn, local missionary of the American Sunday School Union. A varied concert of gospel songs, hymns, and spirituals will be presented by the sev-en-member group. Music will include numbers by a men's quartet, a women's trio, a mixed ensemble, plus vocal and instrumental solos. PRAYER MEETINGS Prayer meetings will be held each Friday at 7:30 p. m.t except for the third Friday, at the Knights of Pythias hall, Fifth and Grape sts. Wor ship services are to be at 9:45 and 11 a.m. Church school classes will be conducted in two sessions, at 9:45 and 11 a.m., coinciding with the wor ship service. Guest Speaker At First Assembly The Rev. David Jenkins, who has recently moved to the Medford area from south ern California, will be guest speaker at Sunday's 7:30 p.m. evangelistic service at First Assembly of God, 1108 West Main st. Mr. Jenkins will speak on the subject, "The Lord Knoweth Them That Are His." Holy communion will be observed at the 11 a.m. Sun day service and the pastor. the Rev. R. E. Cull, will speak on the topic, "The Symbol, isms in the Passover." The Men's Fellowship of the church has arranged for an outdoor barbeque on Sat urday, July 6, at 8 p.m. to be held at the Evan E.
