Grover Coram, 30 Willamette it., who U serv ing the Flrat Presbyterian church ai itudent Mflatint thif lummer, will preach Sun day on "Inner Emigration?" Mr. Coram hai completed hi first year at Union Theo logical seminary, New York City. ' Ai a part of the field work program of a candidate for the gospel ministry, he is serving on the staff of the church primarily in the field of youth work. He is heading fellowship programs for the junior high, senior high, and college. The college-age group meets each Thursday evening with the program consisting of a series of debates and films. In the Senior High group the meeting Sundays at 7 p.m. Is primarily Bible study. Mr. Coram will be assisted by his brother, Jim, and Richard Lichti. The second part of the program Is on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. when recreation, dinner and discussion are held. The Junior High program is held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. This week there will be a discus sion of a short play entitled, "The War Story." After the program, reports irom camp will be heard. While Dr. and Mrs. D. Klrk land West are on vacation the Rev. David Brown will be In charge of all pastoral duties. Westminsler The worship service at Westminster Presbyterian church will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday. Dawson Wllke, stu dent at San Francisco Theo logical seminary, will assist in the service. A trio composed of Mrs. Harvey Field, so prano, Mrs. John Henson, sec ond soprano, and Mrs. John Collins, alto, will sing "Bid Me Enter In." The church school meets st 9 a.m. and Includes classes tor all ages of children, youth and adults. The Senior High Fellow ship will meet Sunday at 7 p.m. at the church, Dawson Wilke will lead a discussion on "The Church's Evaluation of the Peace Corps." Fireside will be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Laurel Case, 31 Glen Oak ct. Junior High Fellowship will met Tuesday from noon to 3 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Dellenback, 297 Windsor ave. Students are to take swim suits and sack lunches. Re ports of the Junior High camp at Lake of the Woods will be given and Dawson Wllke will lead a brief study on "Ways We Worship." They arrived here from the Chey. enne, Wyo., commanding Sal vatlon Army corps. In previous yeirs, he served In the chaplain nectlon of the United States Army. Follow ing this service, the Angels completed their training ai the Salvation Army School for Officers training In San Francisco. Assembly of God Sermons Announced The Rev. R. E. Cull, pastor of First Assembly of God, HOB West Main St.. will speak at both Sunday services. At the 11 a.m. worsmp serv ice the subject will be, "The Best Gifts of the Spirit," and the topic for the 7:30 p.m. evangelistic service has been announced as "Our Heaven, ly Samson." Mr. Cull, who Is sectional oresbyter of Assembly of God churches In the Rogue valley section, stated today that the annual boys and girls camp will get under way Sunday evening, July 7 and continue through 12. The southern Oregon youth camp for the denomination Is located near Butte Falls. Chil dren in the age group 9 thru 12 will have as their director, the Rev. Lawrence D. Krause, pastor of Bethel Assembly, Medford. Camp evangelist and teacher will be the Rev. Monte Fast, pastor of Seaside Assembly of God, Mr. Krause will be assisted by several denominational pastors In the Rogue valley section. Children from as tar away as Brookings and the Klamath basin arcs are plan ning to attend. Eastwood Baptist Announce Schedule Sunday at the Sunday morn ing service of Eastwood Bap tist church, the pastor, the Rev. Clifford J. Young, will speak on, "The Great Confes sion," using as his text Mark 8:27-30. At the 7:30 p.m. service the pastor will give the message, "Jesus Tells of His Death," using Mark 8:31. At the midweek service of July 3 we shall continue the study of II Corinthians. Miss Cunningham to Speak in Prospect Prospect - The Cascade Gorge Christian church will hear Miss Jean Cunningham as the guest speaker for the next three Sunday morning services. Miss Cunningham has taught In the Prospect schools for the past year after minis tering to the Gold Hill Chris tian church for several years. She has spent some time In Mexico In mission work and will relate some of her experi ences and activities there dur ing that time. 1957 Award of Merit Winner CHURCH NEWS National Religious Publicity Council 'Revival' To Be Befhe Assembly Topic The sermon theme of Beth. el Assembly of God's 11 a.m. worship service Sunday will be, " Revival. Commencement Set for School Eagle Polnt-Slxty-one boys and girls have enrolled at the Vacation Bible school being conducted at the Shady Point Seventh-day Adventlst church, Crater Lake highway near Sams Valley Junction. The school Is divided into kindergarten, primary and junior classes, evenly divided between boys and girls ages to 14. In a commencement pro gram at the Adventlst church Tuesday, July 2 at 8 p.m.. certificates of achievement will be awarded by Mrs. Helen Barrow, director of the school. Each of the three age groups of youngsters who have completed tne BiDie school work will present parts of the program In connection with the graduation cere mony. Parents will view a dhv play of some of the crafts and nature collections on which the children have been work lng. The program will also In- elude demonstrations o f songs, Bible memory worn and recitations which have been part of the Bible school activities during the period. Sermon Series to Conclude Sunday The Book of Judges has been the setting for a series of messages brought In the current Sunday evening ser vices by the Rev. Harold M, Sanner, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, 920 Holly st. He concludes the series on "Stumbling Over the Stars,1 Sunday at 7 p.m. with the sermon, "A Weak, Strong Man." Music for this service will be furnished by a girls trio composed of Marilyn Shepard, Doris and Evelyn Young, a duet by Velma Myers and George McUne, and a vocal solo by Elwln Paulson. Communion Slated At Brethren Church Communion will be observ ed during the 11 a.m. worship hour at the Medford church of the Brethren, 345 North Mary st. The pastor, the Rev. Tonight at 8 o clock in the church social hall, the Youth Fellowship will hold a box social. Each person attending is to take a box to be auc tioned. All proceeds will go toward sending the youth to camp. Sunday at 7 p.m. the CBYF will have as their meeting s panel discussion on the topic "Is the Church Meeting the Needs of the Youth?" Dr. and Mrs. Milton Snow will sing "The Lord Is My Light" at both morning wor ship services. The youth choir will sing "Jacob's Vi sion," at 9:30 a.m. and the chancel choir will sing "I Sought the Lord" at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Pauline Bush as soloist. The Senior High Methodist Youth Fellowship suspend ing the week end at Jededlah Smith Redwood State park. It will be their annual plan ning retreat for the year's program. New officers are Janice Larimer, president; Kay Kent, vice president; Elaine Davenport, secretary; and Penny Sage, treasurer. Accompanying the group to the bench will be Mr. and Mrs. James Baumer and Mr. and Mrs. William Longmore. The Young Adult Search ers, formerly the College Age Fellowship, will reactivate their Church School class Sunday at 11 a.m. In the Tower room of the church Robert France will be the teacher. Dr. and Mrs. Roseberry will be going to the Pastor's re treat of the Eugene District at Indian Springs camp from July 1 to 3. MISSIONARY WORKERS - Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ragsdale have been appointed as missionaries by the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission society of Wheaton, Illinois, to the Ivory Coast. Ragsdale is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rags dale, route 1, box 202, Eagle Point. He was graduated from the Eagle Point High school in 1933 and from Southern Ore gon college in Ashland In 1939. He received a bachelor of divinity degree from Western Baptist seminary In Portland In May. The Ragsdale have three children.- Before leaving to begin their missionary work they will spend some time visiting churches in the United States to tell of their future duties. First Baptist Announces Topic 'Urgent - Love Needed," will be the message that the Rev. Bernard E. Andrews will give at the First Baptist church Sunday at 11 a. m. The congregation will meet for at least two more Sundays In the Wilson school auditori um at Grand and Corona aves. Congregational Events Scheduled The members and friends of the Congregational church will meet for workship at 10 a.m. Sunday. Hoover Grade school Is the temporary meet ing place of the church which is In the middle of a building program. Sunday, in observation of Independence day, the Rev. Robert W. Tull, minister of the church, will preach a ser mon on the demands and dan gers of our nation's present inter-raclal crisis. The sermon is entitled "Freedom-Tomorrow la Too Late." Mrs. Raymond Powers will play the organ for the service. During the worship hour, child care will be provided In the school health room for children younger than three. Three, four and five year olds will meet In the school band room. Children in first through fourth grade will at tend the opening portion of the adult worship service, and then be dismissed to their class activities. Those in fifth grade and beyond are invited to attend the entire service of worship. Farewell Event To Honor Corwin Family Saturday John D. Trude, former pastor of the Medford Seventh-day Adventlst church will be guest speaker at its 11 a. m. service Saturday. The Trades, with their three children, John Jr., Linda and Debbie will visit friends In the Medford area Friday and Saturday. A picnic lunch has been planned at Llthla park Saturday afternoon in their honor. At 3 p.m. Saturday there will be a baptism in the Medford church. Saturday at 8:30 p.m. val ley Adventists will meet in the Central Point Grange hall, located on Pine st., for a vesper service. Following vespers, there will be a fare well program for the Duane Corwin family. The Corwins will leave Medford next week after conducting evangelistic services in the area since last September They have been assisted in the program by Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Nelson who will re main here, with Mr. Nelson as assistant pastor to Elder Paul Rltz. who will be com ing to Medford from Rose- burg in August to assume the pastorship of the Medford and Shady Point churches. Ninety members have been added to the four churches during the Corwin - Nelson evangelistic program, and a number are preparing for baptism at a later date. Lecture, Studies Set by Witnesses Sunday at the Kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2402 Jacksonville highway, a lecture entitled, "Are Wick ed Spirits Misleading the World?" will be given by A. Button, a representative of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. The meeting will be at 4 p.m. Following the lecture the weekly study in the Watch tower magazine will be held. Other Bible studies that are held during the week at the hall are Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. a school in public speaking is held. Fredrick Ross Ev ans has returned from his va cation and will preach at the) services Sunday morning at the First Christian church. His subject is on the patriotis theme "With Liberty and Jus tice for All." Music at the 8:30 a. m. ser vice will feature the youth choir singing "I Am Thine, O Lord." The chancel choir will sing "Battle Hymn of the Re public" and the carillon choir will sing "List the Cherubid Host" at the second service. Mrs. Mabyl Buchanan and Mrs. Asa Lemon will host the coffee hour following the sec ond worship service.. The Chi Rho Fellowship are sponsoring an old-fashioned ice cream social at the new church building at 2:30 p. m. Sunday. Homemade ice cream and cake will be served. They will have their regular study and worship at 6 p.m. with Trissie Crovette as the leader. The Christian Youth Fel lowship will meet at the old church building at 5:45 p. m. to go to Ashland for swim ming and a picnic. This is a farewell party for their mem bers who graduated from high school this spring. Wednesday evening both the-, chancel and carillon choirs will have receptions to wel come new choir members who will join their groups. The carillon choir 'will welcome the incoming seventh graders and the chancel choir the 11th graders. The Oregon Convention of Christian Churches will con vene at Turner July 2 through 7. Mr. Evans and his family will attend the convention. He will act as the Medford representative on the resolu tions committee. Grace Lutheran to Hold One Service Ashland - Only the 11 a.m. service will be conducted Sun day at Grace Lutheran church Ashland, by the pastor, the Rev. Albert Nickodemus. Ha will also conduct an 8:30 a.m. service at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Grants Pass. Sun day school and Bible classes will meet at the usual time of 9:45. During this week Mr. Nick odemus has been In attend ance at the Northwest District convention o f the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod which is being held in Portland.
