JUNE 37, 1183 MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON Photos of Past Festival Seasons Sought for Book - Ashland-Photos of historic or aesthetic Interest from past Ashland seasons are betnf sought by officials of the Ore gon Shakespearean . Festival in Ashland. The photos will be used In the publication of a com memorative volume, to be published next year as one of several projects under way for celebration of Shake speare's 400th birthday. The Festival association, through the facilities of Ore gon State University Press, hopes to release the volume In time for the 1984 season. It will be designed as pic torial accounting of the span from the preceeding Chautau. qua years through the three ' Elizabethan theaters that have stoon on the Llthla Park site. Accompanying the photos will be a historical narrative text and running diary of the human efforts which conv bined to make the Western Hemisphere's first Shake spearean Festival an annual event. Donors should mark their name and address on the back of each picture with a oft lead pencil; clip to it a sheet with all identifying facts, and mail the packet to "Public Relations Office, Ore gon Shakespearean Festival, Ashland, Ore." With extreme care In hand ling, all Incoming photos will be examined. Unusable pho tos will be mailed back Im mediately; others will be re tained for several months of processing. MEDFORD, OREGON THURSDAY. JUNE 27. DO Hi-C riri'ie Rogue Saddle-Iites The regular meeting of the Rogue Saddle-llles 4-H Horse club was recently held at the home of Mrs. Ted Chrlstensen. The meeting was called to order by our club president, Xathie Kula. Robin Barnes then led us In our 4-H pledge. Marlene Campbell called roll. Two visitors to the meeting were Miss Connie Bellack and Miss Janice Maine. We discussed our overnight trail ride July 12, 13, 14, and we appointed committees for this. We also discussed our pre-fair which our club held June 2 at the Mcdford fair grounds. On Monday, June 24, the club had a training session at Mcdford fairgrounds. Cooking, Sawing Club A meeting of the Antelope Cooking and Sewing 4-H club was held at the home of Pau lete Anderson, recently. The girls worked on record books and sewing, and the pre-fair was discussed. Margie Lehman, Reporter Appltgate Oardan Club The Applegate 4-H Garden club met recently ml lnlm mmt Wesley Hill s home to tour tncir garden. They had the bluest ffardon with lh .v. cepllon of the leader. They were me only ones with pop corn and peas growing In their garden and had toma toes set on plants. We went to Brad and Steve Brewster's garden, and to Dan Chrlstensen's. Mrs. Krouse showed us how to check for root mag gots on cabbage plants and told us how to make collars for the cabbage plants. We also visited Nancy Brown's garden, and Judy Drake's. She had mostly flow ers and members had straw berries from her patch. All the club visited Mr. and Mrs. Krouse's garden. We went back to Hill's and had a short meeting. We dis cussed whether visitors should go on our field trips. We decided that they should be in the garden club and have a garden In order to go on a trip. We will have anoth er garden tour on July 10 In the afternoon. We plan tenta tively to have our field trip to Chrlstehjon's cabin June 30 to gather and press wild flowers. Wesley Hill, .
