Episcopal Ceremony Held
An event of Saturday, May
25, was the marriage of Miss
Diana Victoria Gardener to
Judson McDonald Parsons.
The bride's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Victor E. Gardener,
Eagle Point, and the bride
groom, who has been making
his home at Hillcrest orchard
here, is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Howland Par
sons, Seattle.
The marriage ceremony
took place at St. Mark's Epis
copal church at four o'clock
in the afternoon with the Rev.
George R. V. Bolster officiat
ing. Only relatives and close
friends were present, and
about 125 guests attended the
reception which followed at
Hillcrest orchard.
Mr. Gardener gave h i s
daughter in marriage, and her
only attendant was her sister,
Mrs. Ycsh Paul Puri, Imper
ial Valley, Calif.
John K. Woodruff, Scattlj,
was best man for Mr. Parsons,
and ushers were Arthur A.

All five of the couple's chil

were 11 grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren.
The couple's children are

which centered the refresh
ment tablo. The crocheted
cloth which covered the table,
made by Mrs. Robert Humph
rey, first had been used sev
eral years ago for the fiftieth
wedding anniversary of Mr.
Humphrey's parents, M r s.
Robert Humphrey, Medford,
and the late Mr. Humphrey.
The cloth also has been used
for family wedding receptions.
The heirloom crystal can
dlesticks used had belonged
to Mrs. Waddcll's mother, the
late Mrs. Lloyd Briscoe of
San Diego. Also used for the
decorations were silver can
dlesticks which had been a
gift to Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Humphrey on their twenty
fifth wedding anniversary.
The Humphrey home was
decorated with bouquets ot
trts and yellow roses, and ye!
low roses also decorated the
patio where the anniversary
dinner was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Waddell were
married May 21), 1913 In
Boulder, Colo., where Mr
Waddell was engaged in min
ing. They moved Utor to San
Diego, Calif., and In 1925
came to the Rogue valley. Mr.
Waddell furmed near Eagle
Point until his retirement
when the couple moved to
town.

after being away since mid
April. From here she travel
ed to Eureka, Calif., to spend
Easter with a daughter, Mrs.

to Arizona, Texas, Florida
and New York.
In New Rochelle, N.Y. she
was a guest of an aunt, Mrs.

Conn., she visited a grandson,

the bride's grandmother, Mrs.
Edward McCann, and a grent
aunt, Mrs. Marvin Jones, both
of Portland; and her grand
father, Alfred West, Seaside.
Mrs. T. A. Bedingfield, an
aunt of the bri-'e, served the
wedding cake for the recep
tion and Mrs. Robert Burton,
a cousin, poured punch. Mrs.
Jones served the- coffee and
registering the guests was
Miss Joan Callaghan.
Travel North
The- couple left for their
wedding trip to Seattle,
Wash., and other northern
points. They will live in San
Diego, Calif., where the bride
groom is associated with
CIBA, a drug firm.
The bride's traveling attire
was a white sheath suit dress
with white accessories.
The bride continued her
education for three years at
the University of Oregon
after graduating from Eagle
Point High school. For the
past several months she ha
been employed in the offices
of Lea Motor company, Med
ford. The bridegroom attended
Oregon schools and was grad
uated in 1962 from the Uni
versity of Oregon. He served
with the Army from 1958 to
1961. and during that time he
attended Monterey, Calif
language school and served
overseas for 18 months.
Other out-of-town guests in
cluded the bride's brother,
Wallace Dale West, who was
on leave from the Army after
completing basic training at
Ft. Ord, Calif.; Mrs. Green;
Mrs. West; Mr. McCann; Mrs.
Violet Ditsworth, Portland, a
cousin of the bride; John

was announced by Dale
Truax, alumni secretary.
Old Timers, students gradu
ating before 1910, are asked
to send their reservations for
meals and dormitory rooms as
soon as possible and address

college, Ashland, Ore.
Some of the activities at the
reunion will be a reception at
the home of the president, Dr.
Elmo N. Stevenson; a Satur
day breakfast; registration in
Britt student center; lunch
eon meeting with a prelimi
nary business meeting follow
ing; tours of Ashland and the
campus; banquet with a busi
ness meeting, committee re
ports, and election of officers
following; and a Sunday
morning breakfast.
