Raider Reider-Larson Ceremony Held in Medford Church Jacksonville - Miss Sharon Anne Larson became the bride of Robert E. Reider May 11 in a ceremony read at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon at Westminster Presbyterian church, Medford. The Rev. John Reynolds officiated. The bride is a daughter of Kir. and Mrs. Stanley Larson, Route 1, Box 10B, Jackson ville. The bridegroom's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Heidcr, Flushing, N.Y., came west for the ceremony. Sev eral other out-of-state rela tives and friends also at tended. Miss Darlene Scherer, Med ford, was maid of honor and Miss Kathy Larson was bridesmaid for her sister. Donald Wyatt served as best man. Ushers were Ken neth Meyers, David Osborne and Kenneth Perreard, Jack sonville. Wears Locket The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a floorlcngth gown of pcau de soic and Chantilly lace trim med with pearls and sequins. It was designed with a Sa brina neckline and chapel train. Her elbow length veil was held from a cap of seed pearls and she carried a white orchid encircled with pink rosebuds and white car nations. Her locket, given to her by her mother, first had been worn by Mrs. Larson on her wedding day as a gift from Mr. Larson. The attendants wore azure blue chiffon strcetlcngth frocks with draped necklines. Their head pieces were white with float veils and their flowers were nosegays of pink rosebuds and blue tipped car nations. Baskets of white stock and pink carnations with blue iris end daisies decorated the church. William Wilson fur nished the organ music and Mrs. A. L. Clay was soloist. Reception at Church The reception given by the bride's parents was held in the church rooms. Tables were decorated with blue SNEAKERS 3 . , . and these wee ones are practical, too. Mrs. William G. Travis cut and served the cake and punch was poured by Mrs. Robert Kohlhoff, a sifter of the bridegroom from Hollis, N.Y. She was assisted by Mrs. A. C. Snyder. Mrs. Osborne registered the guests. The cake knife was loaned by Mrs. Neil Suttel of Star Ranger station. For her daughter's wed ding the bride's mother wore a brown dress with bone col ored accessories. The bride groom's mother wore a green dress with matching accesso ries. Both had carnation and rose corsages. The couple is to return this week end from their wedding trip to Hawaii. For traveling the bride wore a blue and white suit with white acces sories and orchid corsage. To Livi at Station The couple will live at Star Hanger staton where the bridegroom is a civil engineer with the U.S. Forest service. The bride is i Medford High school graduate and has been employed as a bookkeep er for Fluhrer's Bakery, Inc. The bridegroom, formerly of Long Island and Flushing, N.Y., attended Brooklyn High school and Brooklyn Polytech nix college. He holds a de gree in engineering. Other out-of-town guests were Mrs. A. Friedgen, an aunt of the bridegroom from Long Island, N. Y.; Mrs. Cora Gaisser, grandmother of the bridegroom, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cox, San Jose, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Larson, Bur ley, Ida., uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Fred Becker and daughter, Ash land. 4 To Meet A meeting for Degree of Honor Protective association junior members has been an nounced for Monday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m., in Girls Commu nity club. O. Davis, 230 Gibbon road. Central Point, to Edward E. Graham, Portland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Graham, Cottage Grove. The rites were held May 4 at Med ford Friends church. The Rev. Sheldon Hawes, Portland, minister of Gate way Baptist church, was as sisted by the Rev. Kenton Adams, of Forest Acres Com munity church, at the 3 o'clock afternoon wed ding. The double ring rites were at tended by 100 relatives and friends. Clayton Graef, Alameda, Calif., was organist and ac companied Mrs. Stanford Lind, Portland, soloist. The church was decorated with coral pink and white roses and white candles. Bibla It Gift The bride wore an ankle length frock of Chantilly lace over net and satin. Her fin gertip length veil was held by a rhinestone crown and she carried white carnations on a white Bible, a gift from the bridegroom. Mr. Davis escort ed his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. Mrs. Roy Jenkins, Medford, was honor attendant for her sister. Other attendants were Mrs. Ray Keener, Davis, Calif, and Miss Sue Meyer, Vancouver, British Columbia. Teri Lynn Jenkins, Medford, was flower girl for her aunt, and Michael Wood, Portland, was ring bearer. The attendants wore aqua marine satin frocks with white veil hats accented with coral trim. Mrs. Jenkins car ried white carnations and the others carried coral carna tions on white Bibles. The flower girl was in pink. Light Candles Candleiightcrs were Miss Sharon Terry and Miss Bev erly Long, both Portland. Their frocks were of aqua marine satin and their flowers were coral carnations. Jack H. Wood, Portland, served as best man. Seating the guests were Eric Olson, Richard Hyde, both Portland, and Stephen Davis, Central, Point, brother of the bride. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed in the reception room at the church, Mrs. Davis chose a gold suit with white acces sories and white carnation corsage. Mrs. Graham was un able to attend due to illness. Mrs. Garland Shinn, Gold Hill, and Mrs. Kenton Adams were in charge of the recep tion. Mrs. Donald Dcnman cut and served the wedding cake she had made. She was assist- Group Holds Initiation Omicron chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa recently held initiation at the Medford ho tel. In the ceremony three teachers, Mrs. Mildred Bevis, Mrs. Dawn Gwaltncy, and Mrs. Florence Jones were ini tited into the honor group. The ceremony was conducted by Mrs. Eleanor Briggs, Mrs. Pearl Farnsworth. Mrs. Suz anne Shulz and Mrs. Pat Col ley. Mrs. Virginia Ferguson and Mrs. Jane Snodgrass were co-chairmen for the banquet which proceeded the initia tion ceremony. Banquet ta bles were decorated with yel low and lavender spring flowers. The three Initiates enter tained the group with a hu morous vaudeville skit. State convention reports were presented by members attending the meeting in Eu gene in April. Mrs. Eleanor Briggs reported on the execu tive committee meetings. Mrs. Ruth Hockersmilh told of budget findings at the state level. The resolutions com mittee was attended by Mrs. Farnsworth and Mrs. Char lotte Sweet told of member ship plans. Mrs. Ella Elle and Mrs. Kathryn Larison re ported that the statewide al truistic program for the next year will be aid to the Good Ship Hope. Recipients of the chapter's grant-in-aid were announced. Three Southern Oregon col lege seniors. Miss Wendy Johnson. Miss Joan Isham. and Neil Philliber will re ceive the awards this year Miss Johnson and Miss Isham both plan to be teachers. Mr. Philliber will graduate in general studies. The final meeting this spring will be hold June 10 at the home of Mrs. Barbara Hand. It will be an informal planning session. Ashland-Mm. Irving Lord and Mrs. Julian Battailc. pres ident and vice president of the Ashland provisional unit, Oregon League of Women Voters, attended the state con vention held recently at the Sheraton hotel, Portland. ed by Miss Vicki Farrell. To California The couple traveled along the California coast on their wedding trip, the bride wear ing for traveling a beige suit with white accessories and white carnation corsage. They are making their home in Portland. The bride attended Crater High school and Multo nomah School of the Bible, Portland, and was employed by Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone company. Mr. Graham attended Linficld col lege and Multnomah School of the Bible. He is a printer at the Business Printing com pany, Portland. Among the out of town guests attending the wedding and reception were Mr. Graham, father of the bride groom, and Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Higginbotham, all Cottage Grove; Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Mrs. Katherine Farley states that hours will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Mrs. Farley, an iris fancier and grower for many years, slates that this has been a poor growing season for this flow er.
