18 In the Fremont Methodist
church tn Portland. The Rev.
Dallas McNeil performed the
ceremony.
The bride formerly lived
in the Medford Plaza apart
ments and was employed as a
teller in the Equitable Sav
ings and Loan office. The
bridegroom, of Vancouver,
Wash., la owner of a cleaning
establishment in that city.
Mrs. William A. Hatzl,
Medford, daughter of the
bride was matron of honor,
and best man was Fred D.
Miller Jr., Renton, Wash., son
of the bridegroom. Seating
the guests was Mr. Hatzl.
James H. McBrlde, a son
cf the bride, escorted her to
Ihe altar. For her wedding
the bride wore a streetlength
beige chiffon gown with full
tkirt and bodice trimmed
vlih Insets of lace. She wore
matching accessories, and car
ried a white Bible with white
orchids and stcphanotis.
The matron of honor was
dressed in I tangerine colored
silk crepe sheath frock with
matching accessories and a
beige chiffon hat. She car
ried a bouquet of brown cym
bidlum orchids and ivy.
Altar Dacoratad
The altar was decorated
with bouquets of pink snap
dragons and white carnations.
Traditional wedding music
was played.
The reception was held tn
the Sheraton-Portland hotel.
Mrs. W. Shannon, Yuba City,
Calif., cut and served the
wedding cake. Coffee was
poured by Mrs. Victor Mel
ton, Eugene, a sister of the
bride, and In charge of the
guest book was Mrs. Charles
Randall, Los Altos, a daugh
ter of tha bride. About 35
guests were at the wedding
and reception.
The couple has left for
their wedding trip to Hawaii.
They plan to return June 15
when they will live at 120

Vancouver, Wash.
For traveling the bride
wore a blue suit with sliver
mink trimming, and white ac
cessories. The bride Is a member of

sion will be without charge
and entertainment and re
freshments will be varied.
Ashland merchants are fur
nishing prizes for the car
nival.
It is hoped to make the
event an annual attraction.

first time. Her parents, Mr.

have a 9,000 acre farm in the
district of Naracoorte, South
Australia.
Miss Shepherd accompanied
Mrs. Helen John Smith, Costa
Mesa, Calif., to Medford. Mrs.
Smith, a former Medford resi
dent, is a cousin of Mrs. Mansfield.
The visitors plan to stay In
the valley two weeks or so
and then will continue on a
trip to see some of America.
They will visit in Washington
state, Toronto, Canada, Wash
ington, D.C., and New York

California and Oregon coasts.
Their wedding was an
event of May 4 at St. David's
Catholic church In Richmond,
Calif, at 10 o'clock in the
morning. The Rev. John
O'Halloran officiated at the
ceremony and nuptial mass
which followed.

The bride is the former
Jeanne Elizabeth Smith, Rich
mond, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. H. L. Smith, Fort
Wayne, Ind. Mr. Dean, is the
son of Mrs. A. Z. Dean, 200
Valley View drive, Medford,
and the late Mr. Dean. He
attended Medford High
school and Oregon State uni
versity where he was affil
iated with Delta Upsilon fra

train. Her mantilla veil was
of light blue silk lace and
she carried a cascade bouquet
