Also participating in the conference from SOC were Dr. J. Kenneth Bartlctt, asso ciate professor of chemistry and Dr. Julian Battailc. assist ant professor of chemistry. , Purpose of the conference was to provide an opportunity for discussion of mutual prob lems, e s p e ci a 1 1 y those in v 0 1 v e d in undergraduate 1 chemistry curricula. The program consisted of 13 group discussion sessions at tended by representatives of most of the colleges and uni' versities in Oregon, Washing' ton, Idaho, Montana, and Brit ish Columbia. Pathet Lao Forces Menace Neutralists Vientiane, Laos -WN-Coin-munlst Pathel Lao forces are menacing the Neutralist gar rison at Bun Tal In the first potential conflict between the two factions in Phong Saly Province, an official commu nique said today. Bun Tal is about 240 milrs north of Vientiane and 1B0 miles from the Plain of Jars, acene of the main struggle be tween Neutralist and Pathet Lao forces. The communique said a Pathet Lao battalion of 450 men Is at nearby Ban Natene and presumably had "Inlen tiona" of attacking the Neu tralist positions.
