The varsity garnered a 66 to 56 decision and the fresh men won 100'7 to 21 Crater and Klamath each won seven events in the var sity encounter. The varsity meet produced three double winners. Gary Wald nabbed firsts in the 100 and 220-yard sprints for the Comets and Paul Bransom took the low hurdles and broad Jump for Crater. For Klamath Bill Mills was vic tor in the discus and shot put. Others to capture events for Crater were Jim Askwith in the mile, Vern Swanson in the 440 and Phil Brown in the pole vault. Pelican winners included Don Graham In the high hur dles, Don Piper in the half mile, Walt Smith in the jave lin, Dick Scott in the high jump and the relay team. Steve -Maple, in the discus, Medford Triumphs In Upstate Mtdford high compiled a 622 aggregate card Friday and Saturday to win the Up state Golf tournament at Cor vallis in competilion with 16 other schools. The Black Tornado won by two atroks against South Eu. genes 624. Marshfisld wag seven strokes back of Med ford with 629. Larry Hartley, Marshfield, was medalist with 72-72-144. Rich Knight paced Med ford with 74-73-147. Other Tornado scores were Doug Ol son 76-74-150, Tom Clark 81- 81-162 and Mike Miller 76-87-163. Tornado Led Friday Medford led Friday with a 307 team count while South Eugent carded 311. On Sat urday the Marshfield headed the pack with 310. South Eu gene tabulated 311 and Med ford 315. Other team scores for two days included North Eugene 630, Corvallis 638. North Sa lem 649 and South Salem 653. On Monday the district golf tournament will be held at Rogue Valley Country club her with Medford, St. Mary's, Ashland, Klamath Falls and Grants Pass con tending. Local Youth Will Receive Award Anthony A. Monroe, son ol Mrs. Dorothy Monroe of Med ford, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George M.
