Sign 5fT" Eugene Man Will Appear on Program Leslie Fleming, Eugene, co ordinator for the John Birch society for the area south of Eugene, will be In Medford Monday, May 13, to appear on a program sponsored by the Jackson county chapter, Oregon United Nations asso ciation. Fleming will oppose Dr. Urban Whitaker, associate professor of International re lations, San Francisco State college, and a member of the board of the American Asso ciation for the United Nations, In debating the question, "The United Nations - Right or Wrong." The debate will be held at a luncheon set for noon at the Jackson House and the public is invited. The program will be limited to an hour. Tickets may be purchased at Law rence's Jewelers, 21 North Central avc. Dr. Whitaker will also speak at Southern Oregon col lege and at a dinner meeting to be held at 6:30 p.m. that day at the Jackson House, Mrs. H. E. - They broke their promise and my son is heartbroken. ; Mr. B. B. - Our daughter must pay a price for their sinning. Mrs, R. E. - A boy was born a month ago to my son and his girl friend. Because her parents went back on their word, it arrived out of wed lock and they're about to turn it over for adoption. My son is heartbroken over this. I'd like to know if he has any rights to the baby. The girl is so up set she signs any paper her father hands her. She went steady with my son for five years, encouraged by her par ents. Mr. B. B. - Those kids were supposed to wait till they graduated from college to get married and start their family. Instead they tried to get away with marital relations two years ahead of time. Well, God punished them. Mrs. E. can't expect us to stick to our promise and let them marry as though nothing wrong had happened.. They may still marry, but chey can't keep that baby. The Council! How presump tuous of Mr. B. to speak for God. The God In whom the truly God-fearing believe could never be as cruel as some of the men who put words into His mouth. But we have an encouraging word for Mrs. E. and her son. A lawyer advises us that this youth is legally the baby's "putative father": although there Is no legal bond between him and the teen-age mother, a quick claim, instituted by his attor ney, could establish his rights against the signing away of his illegitimate son. Then, despite the girl's lack of back bone in the face of her par ent s domination, a marriage may well ensue ... As to Its chances for success-we'd ad vise these mixed-up kids to set up housekeeping around the corner from a good marriage counseling clinic. jumping bean farms was . i-JGi JwTS J I .
