Take Communion
Second grade students of

Doctrine catechism classes
will receive their First Holy
Communion on Sunday, May
12. it has been announced.
The event will take place
in Sacred Heart Catholic

every Saturday morning dur

tions for this honor. Since
that time a committee has
been at work to make the fi
nal section. Its choice will be

Mr. and Mra. Hunter Dixon,
former recipients of the award
will make the presentation.
During the service the altar
choir, composed of junior and
junior high age boys and
girls, will sing. The choir is
under the direction of Mrs.

Meets His Doom" is the mes
sage to be brought Sunday at
the First Baptist church by
the pastor, the Rev. Bernard
E. Andrews. The service is
held at 11 a.m. at the Wilson
school, Grand and Corona
aves. The chapel choir will
sing for the service and May
nard Hadley will be soloist.
The message for the 7 p.m.
service will be "The Day a
Deacon Died." Miss Kathy
Hill will sing and there will
be an instrumental duet by
Miss Donalyn Minear and
Miss Elizabeth Paeth. .
Sunday school is conducted
at 9:40 a.m. and the Bible is
the text book for every class.
The school is completely grad
ed and departmentalized for
each age with more than 50
teachers and officers em
ployed each Sunday.
Young people ot the cnurcn
conduct their own meetings
at 6 p.m. under adult super
vision. There is also a teach
er training class for adults
studying a survey of the New
Testament.
Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
the church is making a study
of the entire New Testament
this year and is at present in

Tonight's service at 7:30
o'clock and the Sunday serv
ices, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., will
conclude the evangelistic cam
paign that has been going on
at First Church of the Nazar
ene, 520 North Holly st.
The Rev. C. William Fisher,
Kansas City, Mo., has been
guest preacher for these meet
ings. He is also a musician and
presents a varied program of
vocal and instrumental music
in each service.
Minister of education and
music for the local church,
Perry Christiansen, has stated
that tonight has been desig
nated as Sunday School night
and all the children's depart
ments with their leaders will
be recognized. The primary
and junior choirs will sing
under the direction of Mrs.
Christiansen.
The Rev. Harold M. Sanner,
pastor of the local church,
who recently returned from
a journey to two mission sta
tions of the denomination at
Trinidad, West Indies, and the
Republic of Panama, will tell
of a typical Sunday school in
those areas to the adult de
partment of the Sunday
school Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
During the 6 p.m. youth
hour, he will describe the
Youth camp in Trinidad
where he served as chaplain.
