Pro ceeds will support commun ity project of Altrusa, includ ing their vocational acholar ahip grant to older women for retraining purposes. Friday, May I, a bridge party will be held at the Girls Community club at 7:10 p.m. Final plana for this event were made at meeting of the club et the homo of Mrs. Walter Young, president , Thursday. Mrs. George Cod ding, committee chairman, is In charge. Mrs. Codding will be assist ed by Mr. Luclne Mile and Mrs. Fred Konshot. The second event wilt be the following day, and will be rummage ante at the Eagla hall, 219 west Main street. The April meeting celebrat ed the 46th anniversary of Altrusa International, which was founded on April 11, 1017. It wss the first service club for women executives, owners of business or of pro fessions status. Initiated in a candlelight ceremony were Mrs. Owen Kunkel and Mis Claire Han ley. The information commit tee was In chsrge. Committee members are Miss Catherine Fonken, Miss Mary Hanley, Mrs. Margaret Miles, Mrs. C. A. Palller, Mrs. Codding and Mrs. Young. United Nations Will Be Topic Ashland - The united Na tions is to be the subject for discussion at a Monday eve ning meeting sponsored by the Ashland Provisional unit, Oregon League of Women Voters. Speaker at the 8 p.m. meet ing in the Gresham room of the public library will be Omar Bacon, Jackson county librarian and vice president of the Jackson County chap ter, Oregon United Nations association. Mr. Barton escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. Gown of Organia The bride's chapel length gown of nylon organza over taffeta was appliqued with rosebuds of self-material. Her elbow length illusion veil was held by a pearl and rhine- stone crown. She wore a sin gle strand of pearl and car ried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Mi Jossy wore a yellow nylon organdy dress over taffeta with rhinestone tiara and the Junior bridesmaid's frock, also of yellow nylon organdy, was lined with floral taffeta. Both carried bouquets of daisies. The flower girl wore a frock which matched that of the Junior bridesmaid. Her headband was of daisies and she carried a basket filled with lavender and white lilac blossoms. Decora!. With Lilacs The church was decorated with white and lavender li lacs, which, with bows, also marked the pew ends. Mrs. James Cornutt. aunt of the bride, furnished the wedding music, and Maynard Hadley sang. The reception, given by the bride's parents, was held in the Eagle Point Grange hall. Serving the cake was Mrs. Earle Jossy and Mr. Louis A. Bruner, sunt of the bride. Pouring coffee were Mrs. Glenn Coffer. Beativ. Nev., another aunt, and pre siding at the punch bowl was Mrs. Raymond Hines. a sister of the bridegroom. Mrs. Harlin Stlnson had charae "i ine guest oook. Assisting at the gift table were the Misses Linda and Sue Cornutt, cousins of the bride. Donna and Darlene Barton passed bags of pastel colored rice. About 100 guest attended the wedding and reception. The church decorations and corsages were arranged by Mrs. Lorlta Wisdom. The wedding cake was decorated by Fred Coffman. Guests Her Out-of-state guests included Mrs. Dave Welch, Hemet, Calif., a grandmother of the bride. Numerous relatives and friends came from cities throughout Oregon. The couple left tor the Oregon coast on their wed- ding trip. The bride chose a teal blue sheath dress with Jacket for traveling. Her cor sage was of white carnations and pink rosebuds. They will live in Medford at 160 De Hague street. The bride is a 1M2 gradu ate of Eagle Point Hiah school where she was a stu dent for three years, prior to that attending southern Cali fornia schools. The bride groom was graduated from Medford High school in 1961 and now is a machinist with Lewis Manufacturing company in Medford. Family Dinner Held in Hornbrook Hornbrook - Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Homemakers Council in Corvallis Fortv-four homemak ers from Jackson county will attend the 31st annual meet ing of the Oregon State Home Economics Extension council on the campus of Oregon State university in Corvallis April 30, May 1-2. Business sessions and workshops will be held during the day Wednesday and Thurs day morning. Most of the Jackson County Home Extension units will have a lesson in May on the care of hard surface floors. How to have beautiful floors with a minimum of care is the purpose of this les son. All types of floors, includ ing the many new types of tiles, will be discussed. Infor mation on the cleaning and the types of waxes suitable for each kind will be given. The lesson was given to unit proj ect leaders by Miss Data Hoch holter, Jackson county home economics agent. Lake Crook Unit Lake Creek Extension unit will meet Wednesday. Readings from the minute book year 1938 were enjoyed. Exactly 25 years ago Tuesday the club was organ ized by the late Eulalie Scho maker at her home. The first president was Mrs. Utahana Atkins. The club room of the Masonic Temple was the first meeting place of the club. During its first year it had a display in the county fair and in its early history won a loving cup as a special music ; award from the California 1 Federation of Women's Clubs. The old minute book was j read by Mrs. Harold Dexter at Tuesday's meeting. It was planned to continue the club history at the next session.
