The former Grace Kelly of
Philadelphia and her husband,
Rainier III, "reigned" over
the event sponsored by the
Philadelphia Fashion Group
from a royal box at the head
of the Philadelphia Art Mu
seum's grand stairway.
The princess' hair was co
iffed in towering empire style.
She wore a stunning blue or
ganza Balenciago gown with
a diagonal hem ruffle. At her
throat, bosom and wrists glis
tened a queen's ransom of
diamonds and rubies.
Tribune in Song
"Never, never change! Keep
that breathless charm!" was
Eddie Fisher's tribute to her
in song. Gov. William W.
Scranton, who gave her the
sponsor's crystal bowl award
for fashion leadership, addd
this praise:
"All Pennsylvanians join
in honoring this distinguished

Monaco, a protege of Grace's,
played, and Fisher sang a 45
minute program of popular
songs including "That Face,"
which he dedicated to the
princess.

egant fashion show of gowns
by Philadelphia-born design
ers James Gaianos and Gus
tavo Tassell. The show was
presented by 22 top models es
corted by cadets from the
Pennsylvania Military col
lege, announced by Betty
Furness, and dramatically
staged in the lamp-lighted
stairs by Walter Hazeltine.
Miss Anderson. Gaianos,
Tassell, and Fisher were all
given "Philadelphia Great
awards by the fashion group.

Program Topic
For Fraternity

will hold an annual banquet
Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m.
at Kim's restaurant, it was
announced by Dr. Roy McNeal
and Forrest Lesher, coadvis
ers to the organization.
An illustrated lecture of the
human and geographic fea
tures of Iran will highlight
the program. Guest speakers
for the evening will be Mr.
and Mrs. Calvin Fricke, Glen
dale, Ore., who lived in Iran
for several years working in
the Near East Foundations
Village Improvement pro
gram. Mr. Fricke culminated
his work in the country by
developing the organization
and curriculum of an agricul
tural college which the Royal
Iranian government has now
built on the shores of the Cas
pian sea.
Mrs Fricke, formerly a
Klamath county home demon
stration agent, worked with
the women and children of
over a hundred villages to
raise health and educational
standards.
It was stressed that Iran Is
the key interest to geograph
ers, as it occupies a position
of strategic importance In the
Near East and several of the
world's major political prob
lems centered in or around
its borders.
