he University of California,
the nation's largest university,
were ordered Tuesday to drop
their discrimination' clause

religion or national origin af-
He
noted that an anti-discrimina-

adopted by the L'C Board of
Regents in 1959.
Many of the chapters of the
seven UC campuses are affil

Both ships were running
the same southerly course, ap
parently headed for Cuba.
The Coast Guard said one
of the trawlers was spotted
about 1 1 a.m. (EST) about two
hours before Kennedy cruised
on his yacht irito the Atlan
tic, and the other about 4
p.m. (EST) an hour or so after
Kennedy returned home from
his cruise.
The Kennedy yacht - with
the President, Mrs. Kennedy
and Charles E. Bohlen, U.S.
ambassador to France aboard
cruised less than a mile into
the ocean before circling back
into the intracoastal canal,
presumably because of choppy
Atlantic waters.

Try and Stop Me
By BENNETT CERF-
rpWO BALD-HEADED HUSBANDS, in their early fifties,
were exchanging confidences at their country club. "As
usual," sighed one, "I came home pooped from the office
last night and as usual
my wife wanted to go to
the movies or the theater.
I reminded her that we
were plagued with a
jurisdictional strike, that
our new fall line was
giving us trouble, and
that I was far too ex
hausted to go chasing
around all evening."
The other husband
nodded sympathetically,
then asked, "How was
the show?"
"We have about the same percentage of hucksters In adver
tising as there are quacks in medicine and shysters In law,"
complains Walter Guild. "The difference, however, is that the
doctors' mistakes are in the graveyard; the shysters' mistakes
are in jail; the ad man's mistakes are on television. And TV gets
a darn sight better rating than the graveyard or the jail."
