The purpose of the panel was to oresent the student life at St. Mary's. Jim Calhoun, student bodv president, moderated that Danel. Laura Ratzrr wot th speaker for student council. Patricia Fellers and Pat Naumes represented the Sodality. Jeff Randolph was the rm. resentative of Letter m a n j club; Michelle Ely, Pep club; Jack Sterling, Lancers; and Rick Rementeria, Gamma Sig ma Gamma, the school's new. est service club. Speaking for me annual stall was Kathy Hout and for all classes, Mike Soran. The Danel was siven Tues. day for the student body to prepare lor elections and to prepare the speakers. Marian Choir, under the di rection of Sister Miriam Jo seph participated in Holy Week liturgy by singing at Mass and service on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. The choir was without the service of the or gan from the Gloria of the Mass on Thursday until the Gloria of the Easter Vigil (Midnight) Mass, according to church custom. Boy's Glee and Choralcttes sang special parts of the proper of the Masses. Besides the Easter Activity, the choir has begun practices for the operetta "The Fortune Teller" which will be present ed May 7, 0, 10. Four seniors were elected to represent St. Mary's on Stu dent Government Day. City school superintendent will be Pete Naumes, councilman of Ward II will be Jim Webb, fire chief will be Barbara Lewis and recorder-treasurer will be Jerry Vakoc. Posters and demonstration were used in the campaigning which culminated in speeches Thursday. April 4. The elec tions took place the following day. Others competing for the offices were Kathy Hout, Marylee L o w r y, Charlotte Sokolowski, Linda Van Dyck, and Mike Stlnson. 4-H NEWS Gold Hill Linstock The meeting ot '(he Gold Hill Livestock 4-H club was called to order by BUI Jones, president, at the Martin resi dence. Roll was called and an swered by project reports. The minutes were read and approved. Under old business Marie Jones gave a report on the . recent tour of Oregon State's Livestock barns at Corvallis. Marie told about different ex periments they are conduct ing and some of the results. Members paid their dues. Candy Gall gave a report on the correct use of parlia mentary procedure in a 4-H club. After the business meeting Bob Gail instructed the mem bers on Judging the market hog. Mr. Gall explained that the retail market now calls for the moderately finished hog instead of the overly fat hog of the past. The next meeting will b. April 22 at the Coward resi dence, Galls Creek rd. Mrs. Martin served re freshments. Candy Gall, Reporter. Smart Cookias The ninth meeting of the Smart Cookies 4-H club was called to order April 8 by President Kayrn Ricks at the home of Mrs. W. R. Florcy. There were seven present and one new member. Em crino King. Shurcc Davis led the flag salute and Teresa Barnard led the 4-H pledge. The cake sale was changed to April 27 and it was decided to put a box in Paulsen and Gates Thrift Market next week. The meeting was adjourned and Verna Kcmpcrt served re freshments. The next meeting will bo held at the home of Mrs. Florcy, April 22. Alice Mlngcr, Reporter. Griffin Craak Dairy A recent meeting of the Griffin Creek Dairy 4-H club was held at the home of Pcppl Clark. During the business meet ing we checked our goals and found we may complete most of them.
