Jamei Culver Miller traveled along the Ore gon coast following their wedding March 17 in the First Pres byterian church in Napa, Calif. The bride is the former Miss Charlene Mae Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Edwards, Napa. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Miller Sr., 411 Oakwood drive, Medford, went south for the ceremony. The couple's home is in Marlines, Calif. The bridegroom, a graduate of Medford St. Mary's High school is employed in Oakland, Calif. (John Eiusman photo) Reservations Available ' Reservations are still being accepted for the annual Easter Monday luncheon, scheduled this year April 15 at the Rogue Valley Country club. - Mrs. Philip Lowry is res ervations chairman and may be reached at 773-2622. James Dunley will be master of cere monies. A feature of the luncheon Is the selection of the "ten fairest ladies," and will be continued this year. Last year's selections were Mrs. David Legg, Mrs. Paul R. Mc Cullock, Portland; Mrs. Don Hull, Mrs. James Mullaney, Mrs. Ernest Flakua, Mrs. Jer ry Olson, Mrs. Bessie Riley, Mrs. E. D. Davis, Mrs. Michael Popow, and Mrs. Lewis Ul- rich. Theme for this year's event is "Flowers In Springtime." It will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Judges this year will be Mrs. D. Ford McCormick, Mrs. Dunbar Carpenter, and Mrs. Reedy Berg. . Friends Bidden To Open House Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Slelle are invited to call on the couple during open house Saturday, April 6 in their home at 525 Pearl street, Medford, in observance of their fiftieth wedding an niversary. Hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. The couple's four sons and four daughters and their wives and husbands will be hosts and hostesses. Marriage Rite Held In Nevada Miss Margaret E. Taylor and Donald O. Burgess were wed in double ring rites March 23 in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shep herd, Reno, Nev. The five o'clock afternoon ceremony was read by the Rev. Vernon E. Hotter. The bride, of 813 Grant street, Medford, is a daughter of Mrs. Leilah R. Thom, Cum beriand, Md., and the late John Bishop Taylor. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Almon A. Burgess, Route 1, Box 255, Eagle Point, and the late Mr. Burgess. Attending the bride was Mrs. Robert E. Miller of Med ford, and Mr. Miller was best man. The bride chose a blue Ital ian knit suit with white ac cessories and her corsage was a white orchid. The matron of honor wore a coral colored suit and acces sories. Her corsage was of carnations. The wedding dinner was served in the Circus Room Theater restaurant in The Nugget at Sparks, Nevada. The bride, who has lived in Medford for the past 20 years, is employed as a secre tary at First National bank, Medford branch. She attended Allegheny High school and Catherman's Business school. The bridegroom attended Alhambra, Calif., City High school, and is employed by the CBS Construction com pany. Miller Mil ler-Spence Service Held in Lutheran Church Rites Planned In Nurnberg The engagement of Miss Carolyn L. Miller to Capt. Robert L. Smith, both of Nurnberg, Germany, has been announced by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Miller, 2200 Ruhl Way, Med ford. Miss Miller is teaching for the U.S. Army dependents' education group in Nurnberg and Captain Smith is current ly on active duty there with the Army Medical corps at 20th Station hospital. He is son of Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith, Cleveland, Ohio. A June wedding is planned in Nurnberg. Miss Miller spent her vaca tion last summer in Medford with her parents. Ascension Lutheran church was the scene for the mar riage of Miss Toni Spence and Ronald E. Miller on March 16 when the 8 o'clock evening rites were read by the Rev. Vernon Hanson. About 75 guests attended the double ring ceremony. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Spence, 1380 South Peach street. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, Corvallis, came south for the ceremony. Mr. Spence escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride's lace sheath dress was ankle length with a full overskirt of taffeta organza styled with a short train. She carried a bouquet of carnations center ed with a white orchid on a white satin covered Bible, the Bible being a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Richard Melum. Mrs. John L. Cox was the bride's only attendant. Her emerald green dress was bal lerina length and her flowers were a nosegay of pale yel low carnations. The church was decorated with baskets of yellow glad ioli and white stock. Mr. Melum sang the wedding songs. The reception given by the bride's parents was in their home. The wedding cake was cut with a cake knife which was a gift from the bride's parents, and is engraved with the couple's name and date of their wedding. Mrs. Richard Rosemus and Mrs. David Johnson cut the cake and Mrs. Roger Surgeon presided at the punch bowl. Coffee was served by the bride's great aunt, Mrs. L. H. Collins, Portland, and an aunt, also of Portland, Mrs. Jennie Luce, assisted with the serving. A cousin of the bride. Miss Gail Spence, Portland, was in charge of the guest book. The bride s mother wore pastel green linen sheath dress with matching three- quarter length coat and the bridegroom's mother w a dressed in a light blue knit suit. Both had gardenia cor sages. or traveling the bride wore a print silk sheath dress with pastel yellow coat with the orchid from her bridal bou quet. The couple traveled to the Oregon caves. They now are living at 514 west Jack son street. The" bride, a Medford High school graduate, is a receD. tionist and bookkeeper for the Kogap Lumber company. Tudor Guild Anticipates Busy Season Ashland - Tudor guild has scheduled a busy season and in preparation for it will make plans at its monthly business meeting April 3. Mrs Elliott MacCrackcn, guild president, announced that the session will begin promptly at 8:15 p.m., in the Gresham room of the public library. On the Wednesday evening agenda will be a report from the week end book fair by the cochairman, Mrs. Edd Rountree and Mrs. Edward C. f'itzpatrick Jr. Mrs. Richard Gray will present plans for the annual casting night din. ncr at the close of auditions in June, and other chairmen will make reports on proj ects connected with the Shakespearean festival. A request for household items such as baby equipment and kitchen utensils has been made by the housing chair man, Mrs. Richard Bcrning- hausen, who asks that attics and closets be checked and that persons willing to loan articles call her at 482-0070. Mrs. MacCrackcn reports that the February theater par ty raised $300 which will make another Festival scholar ship available. This brings the guild's total fund to $3800. In Ashland Ashland - Miss Rosemary Stevenson has been visiting at the home or her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo N. Stevenson. 610 Eikadcr street. She has accepted a position as medical record librarian at Los Ange les' Cedars of Lebanon hos pital. She held a similar posi tion at Mercy hospital. Red Carmel Rites Of Interest In Medford News of Interest here is the marriage of Miss Barbara Young and Curtis Robert Richmond which was solemn ized March 10 in the chapel of the Church of the Way farer in Carmel, Calif. The bride, of San Francisco, formerly was from Boston. Mass. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Young, Oxford, Ohio. The bridegroom, also of the Bay city, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Richmond, 822 Park Place No. 5, Medford. He is a 1049 Medford High school graduate. Miss Cherry Munger attend ed the bride and James Friel was best man. Both are from San Francisco. The bride wore a beige suit and her corsage was a brown orchid. Miss Munger's suit was blue and her flowers were pink carnations. The bride attended Miami university where she was af filiated with Pi Beta Phi sor ority, and she attended the Katherine. Gibbs school in Boston. She is employed in the planning commission of fices for the City of San Fran cisco. The bridegroom, who is a salesman for a brokerage firm, attended the University of Oregon. He is a member of Theta Chi fraternity, and of the Olympic club in San Francisco, an athletic organ ization. , The couple is living at 2365 O'Farrell street, San Fran cisco. Wedding Plans Are Announced Montague Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gamma Sr., Big Springs, have announced the betrothal of their daughter, Lorraine Marie Gamma, to Roger Burch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burch, Sr., Montague. The wedding is planned. for April 27 at the St. "Joseph's Catholic church in Yreka. (Bradford Bachach photo) 1 Parents Meet Son Arriving From Mexico Mr. and Mrs. Karl Clinkin- beard, 2116 Woodlawn av enue, Medford, have returned from San Francisco where they met their son, William Clinkinbeard, who was re turning after studying in Mex ico City for the winter term. The group vacationed at Del Monte lodge in Pebble Beach, Calif., and in Las Vegas, Nev. Young Clinkinbeard, a Med ford High school graduate, continued on to Oregon State university where he is a jun ior student. He attended the American University in Mex ico, formerly known as the Mexico City college, and dur ing a part of his stay he lived in the home of a Mexican lamily. He also visited in Veracruz, and in Acapulco went deep sea fishing. The Clinkinbeard's son, Kent, a Hoover school stu dent, spent his spring vaca tion at the farm of his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Clinkinbeard of Coos Bay. - Wednesday Study club members will hold a guest day at Girls' Community club, Wednesday, April 3 at 2 p.m. This annual event is a tea and each member may bring a guest. Unusual Music Is Played At Patton-Lynch Weddina . 1 j . . w Music not usually heard at weddings was played at the marriage rites read for Miss Sandra Lee Lynch and John Dennis Fatton, March 16 in St. Andrew's Episcopal chapel in Prineville. The bride, a music education major at Uni versity of Oregon, is a daugh ter of Mrs. Edna Lynch and R. Walton, Prineville. The bridegroom, a general science student at the univer sity, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Patton, 3225 Forest avenue, Medford. Both the bride and bridegroom are sen ior students. The rites were read at 2 o'clock in the afternoon by the Rev. John L. Grctz. About 90 guests attended the cere mony and reception. Purcell's "Trumpet Tune in D Major" was played for the processional and Handel's "Hornpipe From the Water Music Suite," was the music for the recessional. Dieterich's "God of Love" was given as a vocal solo. Mrs. W. F. Raynor, Bend, a sister of the bride, was her only attendant . Best man was Fred Raw- abata, Portland, and Charles Aylworth, Eugene, seated the guests. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white street-length dress of em bossed organdy with full skirt. Her elbow length veil was held by a seed pearl crown and she carried a pink frilled rosebud nosegay.
