Moore's career was meteoric
and ' relatively brief. H e
pitched in the majors from
1927 through 1933, five years
with the Yankees and two
with the Boston Red Sox, and
had a 61-44 lifetime won-and-lost
record.
In 1927, however, he was
such a sensation that he is
identified with the '27 Yankee
team-often referred to as the
greatest In baseball hlstory
almost as readily as are Babe
Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Herb Pen
nock and Waite Hoyt.
