John W. T. Faulkner
Dies in Tennessee
Oxford, Miss. -(UPD- Author
John W. T. Faulkner III, 61,
whose i literary fame was
eclipsed by his famous broth
er William Faulkner, died in
Memphis, T e n n., hospital
Thursday.
Faulkner died from what
his physician said probably
was a stroke following an op
eration for an inflamed pan
creas.
Services were planned to
day in the century and a half
old Faulkner Mansion located
Just off the University of Mis.
sissippi campus, where both
Faulkners once attended
classes.
Friends said Faulkner, who
began his writing career more
than 20 years after his broth
er, had given 3-2 odds he
would return from the hos
pital. Both brothers used this
small college town and its
people for many of their
stories and novels.
