PETITION FOR THE FORMATION OF AN IRRIGATION UISTUK T IN THE COUNTY COURT FOR THE COUNTY OF JACKSON STATE OF OREGON" IN THE MATTER OF THU PETI TION of CERTAIN LAND OWN ERS WITHIN THE BOUND ARIES OF A PROPOSED IRRI GATION DISTRICT Comes now your petitioners and petitions this Honorable Court as follows: That the lands within the fol lowing described boundaries be organized into an irrigation district under the provisions of the Irri gation District Act of Oregon as amended. BOUNDARIES For boundary description, see Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. That all the lands Included with in said boundaries lies entirely with the County of Jackson, State oi Oregon. That no incorporated City, Town or platted subdivisions or parts thereoi adjacent thereto chiefly available for residence purposes and platted in tracts of less than one acre is included in said pro posed irrigation district. That the lands within said boun daries are susceptible of irrigation from a common and combined source and by the same system 01 works. . That your petitioners are de sirous of forming an irrigation district embracing the lands with in the above described boundaries and utilizing the waters of Rogue River and its tributaries for the purpose of irrigation and reclama tion ot said lands, and it is the purpose of the undersigned peti tioners to organize an irrigation district under the provisions of the Irrigation District Act of Oregon as amended. VI That we propose that the name of the Irrigation District shall be Sams Valley Irrigation District, and that the number of Directors thereof shall be three. VII That we, the undersigned, are 50 or more in number, and are owners of land susceptible of irri gation within the proposed dis tract boundaries and which we intend to be included in said pro posed district, and said lands are susceptible of irrigation from a common and combined source and bv the same system of works from which the lands will be irri gated in said described district. VIII That presented with this petition is a good and sufficient bond in double the amount of the probable cost of organizing the district, con ditioned that the bondsman will pay all such costs in case the organization is not effected. That we. the undersigned are duly qualified electors under the laws of the State of Oregon for organizing irrigation districts. WHEREFORE, we pray that the Court will organize an Irrigation District under the Irrigation Dis trict Act of Oregon an1 order nil things necessary according to the law to effect such organization. C. ORDINANCE NO. 8568 AN ORDINANCE declaring the assessment on the property bene fited for the cost of laying an eight (81 inch water main on Whittle Avenue from Crater Lake Highway to Patrick Street in the City ot Medford, Oregon, and di recting the Recorder to enter a statement thereof in the Docket of City Liens and publish a notice thereof as required by the Charter. THE CITY OF MEDFORD DOTH ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Whereas the City Council did heretofore by Resolu tion declare its intention to lay an eight (8) inch water main on Whit tle Avenue from Crater Lake High way to Patrick Street in the City of Medford, Oregon, and to assess the cost thereof on the property fronting on said portion of said street (s) in proportion to the frontage of said property, and did fix a time and place for hearing protests against the laying of said water main on said street (s) and the assessment of the cost thereof as aforesaid. AND WHEREAS said Resolution was duly posted and published as required by Section 116 of the Charter of said City.
