PLAN NO. 3960 1665 SQUARE FEET 5 By HIAWATHA ESTES I you have a flair for the unconventional and think In terms of today and not yester day, contemporary lines of this modern, luxurious look ing home must certalnl meet with your approval. The exterior of the house is both attractive and seii.Ibly planned for modern living. The long, low lines of the roof help the house look much larger than It actually Is. Stone veneer is a pleasing contrast to the vertical sid ing and painted trim. The wide wooden fascia at the toD of the roof is dupli cated near the floor level wlths tone veneer below. An oDen beam roof extends from the house out to the edge of the driveway and is support ed by a series of posts. , Obialn Privacy (,.,-. To obtain privacy, the en- trl was located some distance from the street. Neither the entry or any windows in the some face the street. From the well lighted entry, there is direct access to the kitchen, bedroom wing or living area. Four large closets open to the short hall which leads to all bedrooms. All bedrooms have an exceptional amount of wardrobe space and will accommodate twin beds. The elegant design of the master bedroom suite with its private dressing room and bath- al lows much more wall space for furniture arrangement in the bedroom. Pullman Lavatory The family bath has a pull- man lavatory as does the private bath a linen closet and an enclosed tub with shower over. The third bath is convenientl located near the service where it is easily reached from both the kitchen and the outside of the house. The outstanding feature of this plan is the generous size of the handsome living room with Its modern fireplace and long hearth. The dining area is open to the living room but it is of sufficient size to be completely separated from the living room wltn a wall if a private dining room Is preferred. The illusion of size in this room 1. further en hanced by the wiuc sliding glass doors which open to the roofed patio. The kitchen is a model of efficiency with all doors lo cated so as to provide a maxi mum amount of wall space. Besides a roomy pantry, note the nook area and the sliding doors opening to the patio. There is no doubt that the patio will serve as an outslda dining and family room. A huge storage closet forms the back wall of the carport. Comoleta worklnv drawlnn for thli plan can b purchased at a coat ol $7.50 for the first let and 15 for each additional set when ordered at the aame time. Las Vegas, Nev. - (WD - It's "in" to go to a nude show in Las Vegas but it's "out" to look at a nudist magazine or read "Tropic of Cancer." That's the word from the police department and a steering committee on cen sorship which today ordered 200 magazine dealers to clear their racks of six magazines Judged by the committee to be pornographic. Henry Miller's "Tropic of Cancer," sold here at news stands in a paperback edi tion, also was banned, City Atty. Sidney Whlt- more, chairman of the newly- created censorship group, said the action was taken due to "a growing public interest in the distribution on "girlie' magazines here. Uniformed police officers delivered a written order to each of the dealers today and department spokesmen said that if the magazines and the novel were not removed from the stands violators would be cited under a city ordinance which bans the sale of ob scene material. Magaiinei Named The magazines termed por nographic by the committee were "Sundial," "Nude Liv ing," "Satana," "Nylon Jun gle," "Playgirl" and "World of Men." The steering committee made up of two men and five women - was selected by whltmore on the basis of "their interest in clearing up the problem. A similar committee was formed here two years ago but dissolved without ridding the stands of any of what It termed objectionable mate rial. Bare-breasted floor shows are featured at two of the "Strip" hotels, at present. At various times during the year, however, there are as many as four. In order to attend any of the nude per formances, one must be at least 21-years-old. The Parent-Teachers asso ciation here holds that teen agers, however, are buying the nude magazines even though signs are posted in most shops warning that mi nors are not allowed to pur chase items. Whitmore said his commit tee of seven will meet once a week to consider passing judgement on additional mag azines It feels may be termed obscene. Most dealers refused com ment on the order. One, who asked that his name not be used, voiced an objection: "They pick out five or six magazines and outlaw them, but there must be 100 more on the market. Some of the ones they think are okay have the same pictures In them thai the banned ones do." TULIPS FOR SPRING New York - ll'PD - There will be tulips on Fifth Avenue today to mark the first day of spring. Ten pretty Dutch girls will distribute 10,000 tu lips to pedestrians. STItllMMM.
