Eagle Point Eagle Point's "Barney Fife", celebrated his 36th birthday Thursday and when he went to work he found large birthday greet ings posted all over the city of Eagle Point, or the City of Maybcrry as it is hence forth to be called. Chief ; of Police Robert Moore stands about S feet 7 inches tall and was, nick named Barney by the high school youngsters when he first started with the city po lice department. The mysterious appearance of multi-colored signs was nothing new in Eagle Point,, however. A few months ago Floyd the barber found a sign on his door, complete with a pair of muddy old boots, proclaim ing him to be a shoe repair man. Several of the townsfolk decided they would like to play along with the joke, and so a lew , minutes alter t n e signs' were put up, people started contributing their pen nies on the counter at Brooks Cafe. Barney Innocently posed for the picture at left to help city administrator Oran Chas lain "fix his camera" earlier In the week.
