Leffler, whose marriage was an event of several weeks ago In Reno, Nev., have returned from a six-week trip to south ern California, Palm Springs and Ensenada, Mexico. Mrs. Leffler Is the former Mrs. Arden Antony, 2404 Hill crest road, Medford. Mr. Leff ler is a retired plumbing con tractor, also of Medford.. While on the trip, the cou . pie visited in Orovllle, Calif., s with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald G. Nutting, son-in-law and daugh ter of Mrs. Leffler. In Visalia, Calif., they were guests of Mr. Leffler's brother, Theo d o r Leffler, and in Alhanibra, Calif., they were with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Antony and family, formerly of Ashland. The couple will be at home after this week at 2404 Hill crest road. Mrs. Leffler is a member cf the. National Poetry society and the National Penwomen and is an author. IJWtU:i T 3 mm Novak-Brewer Ceremony Held Gold Hill Mr. and Mrs. William Brewer, Fort Kla math, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Darla Dee Brewer, to Fred Novak. The wedding took place in Palo Alto, Calif., February 22, and the newlyweds are re siding there: Mr. Novak will graduate this summer from Stanford university. Mrs. Novak was graduated recently from busi ness college in Portland. Both attended the University of Oregon at Eugene. Mrs. Novak is a member of a family well known in both Medford and Gold Hill. Her grandparents, the late Ralph Darling, and Mrs. Darling who resides at Fort Klamath, were among early day resi dents of Gold Hill. Mrs Brewer is the former Gladys Darling. Miss Helen Janlser Shower Fetes Holland Couple; Wedding Set News has been received here of the forthcoming wed ding of Miss Susan Tucker and Craig Robison in Utrecht, Holland. The bride-elect is a daughter of Tech Sgt. and Mrs. Jack Tucker of Utrecht. The bridegroom-elect, a Med- fod High school graduate, is stationed in the Holland city with the United States Air Force. He is a son of Mrs. Grace Robison, 612 West Fourth street, Medford, and Aaron Robison, Chandler, Ariz. The wedding date has been set (or April 15. Friends and relatives of the bridegroom in Medford held a bridal shower March 1 in the Rogue room of the Med' ford hotel, Because of the problem of shipping usual shower gifts, the group in stead chose to give them a money tree. Mrs. Melvin Salt marsh, a sister of the bride groom devised the tree from manzanita, sprayed it pink and decorated it with items in the bridal theme. Each guest then placed cards with money enclosed, on the tree. The group completed the evening with dinner and cards. Attending were the Mes- dames Ben Todd, Harold Sander, Hugh Wright, George Miller, James Smith, John Russell, Price Shafer, Glenn Logan, Dixon Kenner, and the bridegroom-elect's mother, Mrs. Robison. 1 Class Members Hold Reunion The visit here of Mrs. Don ald Schneider, former Med- ford resident now of San Pedro, Calif., was the occas ion for a reunion of young women of the area who were members of the 1951 Medford High school graduation class. She was the guest of honor at a luncheon attended by the group at the Colony restaur- ant. Mrs. Schneider left Wed nesday after being the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs Elmo Attcrbury, 1002 West Eleventh street. Others at the reunion lunch eon were Mrs. Robert L. Bos worth, Mrs. Gary Boshcars, Mrs. Richard Card, Mrs Crocker Hunter, Mrs. Rich ard Mann, Mrs. Donald Hale, Mrs. Martha Johnson, Mrs. LaRue Smith, all Medford; Mrs. Raoul Maddox, Ashland and Mrs. David Shearer, Klamath Falls. Group To Hear AFS Students Jens Hasfeldt of Denmark and Nik Yahya from Malaya American Field Service ex change students at Medford High school, will speak at meeting of Jackson County Retired Teachers association March 11. The meeting will open at 1:30 p.m., in the Girls Community club. Music will be provided by a vocal group from a Medford Elementary school. The hostesses are Miss Ca rie Lyon and Mrs. Helen Arnspiger. Tompkins recently was an nounced by her mother. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tompkins, 215 North Second street, Talent. Miss Gibbel, a sophomore in elementary teacher educa tion i.t Southern Oregon col lege, is a 1961 graduate of Medford High school. Her fi- nee is a graduate of Phoenix High school and he attended Southern Oregon college. At the present he is stationed at Ft. Old, Calif., with the Army. No wedding date has been set. Miss Myrna Ford Couple To Wed n May Rites Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Ford, 405 North Second street, Central Point, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Myrna Ford of Amarillo, Texas, to Raymond White, also of Amarillo. Miss Ford is a graduate of Talent High school and is em ployed by the Dock Coffey Pontiac company in Amarillo. Mr. White, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. White, Tulia, Texas, is a graduate of Tulia High school and is employed at Maywood Inc., in Amarillo. Both are students of the Bible training program sponsored by the Church of Christ in Amarillo. The wedding is planned for the last week in May. 1 Relatives Visit n Eagle Point ' Eagle Point Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grow and their three children, are visiting for sev eral days with Mr. Crow's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Grow, and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Grow, all of South B street. Louella May Rone Group Becomes Member of UN Chapter Here At an executive committee meeting of the Eleanor Roose velt League held Friday at the Medford hotel, the Demo cratic women's organization voted to become a group mem ber of the United Nations. A liaison representative to the Jackson County chapter. Oregon United Nations asso ciation, will be appointed by President Mrs. Frank Chris tian within the next week The league also voted to sponsor registration and luncheon fees for a delega tion of ten members to the forthcoming Status of Women conference to be held at Sa lem, April 17. Senator Mau rine Neubergcr and Congress woman Edith S. Green, mem bers of President Kennedy Status of Women committee will address the April con ference. Mrs. Ralph Poston, chair man for the rummage sale sponsored by the league, an nounced that the sale would be held all day Tuesday, March 12, at the Fehl build ing on North Ivy street. Snowmen Plan Trip The Rogue Snowmen plan to sponsor another chartered bus trip to Mt. Shasta Ski bowl Wednesday, March 13 which will be ladies day at the bowl. Reduced rates are given on lifts and lessons. The bus is to leave the Medford Greyhound bus depot at 8 a.m. Both men and women are invited to make the trip in cluding sightseers and skiers. "SPRING 1 SPRUNG" Flutist To Appear n Concert Ashland - Karlin Rhees, flutist, will be the featured soloist for the Winter concert of the Southern Oregon Little Symphony orchestra which ill be presented today at 2 clock, in Churchill audi torium, it was announced by Dr. Herbert Cecil, director. Mrs. Rhees is a former pu pil of William Kincaid who was solo flutist of the Phila delphia Symphony orchestra. At present, she is a resident of Eugene, Ore., where she plays in the Eugene Wind ensemble and teaches in the school of music at the University of Oregon. She will play the solo part in Vivaldi's "Concerto for F 1 u t e," "Harpsichord and Strings," and Kent Kennan's Night Soliloquy." Numbers by the orchestra will be "Dovetail Overture" by Robert Muczynski, "Sym phony Number One" by Beethoven, "Pcrpetuum Mo bile" by Strauss, and "Sleep ing Beauty Waltz" by Tchai kovsky. There will be no admission charge for the concert al though an offering will be ac cepted for the benefit of the Music Scholarship fund. Honor Students To Be Inducted Eagle Point - Candidates of the Honor society at the Eagle Point High school will be in ducted at the meeting of the Parent Teacher Student asso ciation on Tuesday, March 12, at 7:dU p.m., in the new multi purpose room at the high school. Mrs. Stewart Hopper, an ad visor at the high school, has released the names of the fol lowing fifteen students who will be honored that evening. The annual event will be held in the Starlight room of the Rogue Valley Country club. Luncheon will be served at noon, and cards will be avail able for bridge and canasta during the afternoon. Grandmothers who will model are auxiliary members and the young models are the children of physicians. They will wear fashions from five Medford stores: Jean Hart's, Mann's, Robinson's, B u r 1 e son's and the Big Y Easter bonnets will be fea tured as the theme of the benefit, and Easter egg pas tels will be used in the deco rations. Mrs. E. Lee Harlow is in charge of table decora tions, and Mrs. N. James Wil son will provide room decora tions. Mrs. Mario Uampagna and Mrs. Robert Riecherj have arranged for models. Mrs. Thomas Upton and Mrs. Theodore Barss are pre paring the program, and Mrs. Ted Sickels will be the com mentator. Mrs. .Richard Relief Society Plans Program On Arts, Crafts Mrs. Bruce Rawlins will di rect the Arts and Crafts les son at the Tuesday, March 12, meeting of the Relief society of the Second ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, 648 South Ivy street. A short lesson will be given. It will be the second part of "A Latter Day Saints Home is Clean." The objective is to show that a well-cared for home enhances its beauty and uplifts the soul. After the lesson, Mrs. Raw lins will give a demonstration on making ribbon corsages. Each woman attending has been asked to take three or four yards of florist type rib bon either satin or taffeta for the flowers and one and one - half yards of ribbon for the bow. Wire and florist tape may be purchased at the meeting. ! . . Those attending will also take a potluck dish and her own table service for the noon luncheon and a sack lunch for her children. Mrs. John Watson and Mrs. Donald McGeary are general chairmen for the benefit, and proceeds will be given to val ley hospitals for post-graduate education of registered nurs es. Recently, $70 was given to Rogue Valley Memorial hos pital to be used for refresher courses for R.N.'s, and an equal sum to Sacred Heart hospital to help defray ex penses to send a nurse to an out of town post - graduate course. If Yee Want It , n Founders Day Is Observed At Elk-Trail Elk-Trail - Past presidents of the Elk-Trail Parent Teach er association were honored at the annual Founders day meeting held recently at the school. The unit was organ ized in 1926. James Collier, audio visual coordinator for the school and the teaching staff presented a program on the use of audio visual equipment. Shown were flannel board, arith metic charts, tape recorder, opaque projector, a sight and sound program, overhead projector, micro-projector and various life form models. This equipment and many more are available to schools through the county curricu lum center. Women of the unit are at tending a cake decorating class instructed by Kenneth Lacy.
