Among the wives who attend ed were (left to right) Mrs. Marvin Koch, Ashland; Mrs. Jack Price, whose husband is the new president of the society: Mrs. Robert Thomas, Eugene, wife of the presi dent of the Oregon Dental society, and Mrs. Richard Fredericks, wife of the retiring president of the Southern Oregon society. Guest Speaker Scheduled for Oak Grove PTA William Ruck, Medford di rector of the Ford founda tion's Oregon program, will be guest speaker at the Oak Grove Parent Teachers as sociation meeting Friday afternoon March 8 at 2:30 p.m., in the school cafeteria. Just what the Oregon pro gram is and how it will affect Medford schools will be ex plained by Mr. Ruck. Following Mr. Ruck's talk, election of officers for the coming year will be held. Ride 'n Shop Member Main and Bartletr Streets Phone 772-6428 Civic Music Returns Said Good Renewal returns for Jack son County Civic Music asso ciation memberships have been exceptionally good, ac cording to Mrs. Darell Huson, president. The renewal forms were mailed last week to 1962-63 members who have the privi lege of renewing their mem berships previous to the an nual membership drive which this year will be held in early April. At the present time officers of the local association are ne gotiating with national civic music headquarters for the well known Paris Chamber orchestra. This group consists of approximately 16 to 20 musicians. Already booked is the Vien na Boys choir, which appear ed here in the mid - fifties. That season the association oversold members as a result of the booking and from present indications the same will occur again, officers stated. Mrs. John Lusk, Medford, and Mrs. Herbert Cecil, drive chairmen, are anxious to con tact volunteer workers for the membership drive which opens April 1. Civic music member ships may be used in the Eu gene series and this fall the London Philharmonic sym phony is to appear in Eugene. Dental Wives Set Meeting In Portland Portland The sixth an nual meeting of the Women's auxiliary to the Oregon Stale Dental association will be held Tuesday, March 5 in the Sheraton Hotel ballrooms, Portland. Mrs. James Stagias, Salem, is the out-going presi dent and Mrs. Ralph Cooper of Portland is president-elect for 1963-64. Dentist's wives and their guests from throughout the state will meet first at a social hour starting at 11:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. The theme for the luncheon-fashion show this year will be "Meet Me In Dream Land wit'.i "Boudoir to Ballroom" fashions from Portland's Fifth Avenue Shop. Jack Howell will be at the piano for the afternoon, and Mrs. Robert W. Stevens, Salem, will be guest soloist. Guests to be introduced are Dr. Robert J. Thomas, presi dent of the Oregon State Den tal association; Dr. Robert Schulstad, president-elect of the Dental association, and Mrs. George Redpath, nation al director of the Women s auxiliary. Mrs. Dale Parker, Salem, and Mrs. John Krippachne, Portland, are co-chairmen for the event with committees made up from members of component auxiliaries. Mrs. Richard Fredricks, Medford, has charge of the name tags for the meeting. HEC Officer To Make Visit Mrs. Margaret Crouch, Cam as Valley, Ore., district Home Economics club chairman, will visit the Roxy Ann Grange Home Economics club members March 5 at 10:30 a.m., in the Roxy Ann Grange hall. Mrs. Mcrvin Hixson, Jack son county home economics club chairman for Pomona Grange, will introduce the speaker. She has extended an invitation to all club members and Grange women to attend Those attending are to take a covered dish for tne luncn eon. Attendance Noted At Security Club; Members Honored About 80 members of the Security Benefit club and guests attended tne weancs- day meeting of the group in the Pythian building. Those who were honor"'! for February birth dates were Mrs. Julia Vokac, Mrs. Lo ella Vaner, Mrs. James John son, Mrs. Fred Corbin. Mrs Anna Odin. John Smith and Myrle Sprague. Mrs. Al Lowry furnished the birthday cake. Assisting with the serving and in the kitchen were Mrs Agnes Furch, Mrs. Lillian Edwards, Mrs. Ima Redmond Mrs. Hazel Carver, Mrs. Katie Farnsley and Mrs. Vokac. In the interim, a volleyball game Olive Rebekahs Set Observance Friendship night will be observed by Olive Rebekah lodge Monday, March 4 at 8 p.m., in the Odd Fellows hall. Great Decisions To Study India Mrs. Eloise Winklebleck will lead the weekly Great Decisions discussion group on India at the Wednesday meet ing in Wesley hall of First Methodist church. The group meets at noon nd sessions are geared to the working person who has limited noon hour. Soup and coffee are furnished and per sons may take a sandwich with them. Chairman of the group is Miss Voda Brower. Workshop Planned A Hammond organ teacher workshop will be held at Puruckcr Music House, 111 North Central avenue, Mon day, March 11, at 9:30 a.m. The workshop program Is designed to familiarize per sons with organ teaching methods, and is open to all musicians, Including piano and organ teachers and church organists, according to Jack Strong. The program will be con ducted by Porter Heaps, Co lumbia recording artist, au thor, and organist. He will dis cuss and demonstrate teacn- ing methods and how they may be applied to beginning, intermediate and advanced organ students. Lunch will be served by Purrucker Music House, it was stated, but persons are asked to make reservations with Miss Lynda Carver, 773 7538. Adarel Chapter Meetinq Slated Jacksonville - Adarel chap ter, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet Thursday, March at 8 p.m., in the Jacksonville Masonic temple. Mr. and Mrs. Don C. A feature of the evening will be a hat review spon sored by the J. C. Penney company store.
