ABORTION STATISTICS REVEALED

OFFICIAL RETURNS FROM CONFERENCE

SEATO MINISTERS TO CONVENE
Bangkok, Thailand-HPIuThe council of ministers of the
Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) will convene
in Paris on April 8' 10, according to an announcement here.
SEATO Secretary General Pole Sarasin announced the
meeting, the first in two years for the council. SEATO
members are the United States, Britain, France, Australia,
New Zealand, Thailand, Pakistan and the Philippines.

The machine gunner, a pri

titled. His death brought to

tary buildup in South Viet
Nam in 1061.
Informed military sources
said the new "rules of engage
ment" will permit the U.S.
Army's new HU1 gas turbine
helicopters to open fire on
"positively identified" guer
rillas without waiting to be
fired on first as heretofore.
The sources said the effec
tiveness of the heavily armed
craft known by their crews as
"Hucys." in protecting the
more vulnerable H21 troop
carrying helicopters is expect
ed to increase under the new
rules.
