The move followed last Sunday's herding of shoe shine boys in Algiers into an auditorium on order of Pre mier Ahmed Ben Bella. The youngsters learned they would be sent to government paid vocational schools. Ben Bella has said that the parents of the youngsters will receive a subsidy equal to what the children brought home to the families for their work. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman D. Nelson, 1102 Sweet rd., Medford, re cently received a safe driver award while assigned to the Second Armored Cavalry regiment in Germany. Specialist Nelson acmeved recognition for his outstand ing safety record and skill in the operation and mainte nance of military vehicles. Nelson entered the Army in September, 1960, and arrived overseas in March 1961. He is a 1960 graduate of Eagle Point High school. Madden is the 1.525th patient to be flown by the non-profit air ambulance service since it was started. OBITUARIES GEORGE TERRY TAYLOR George Terry Taylor, 427 King st., died at the home of Howard T. Taylor, 515 West list St., Friday. Funeral ar. rangements will be an nounced by Conger Morris, funeral directors. IVA I. BADGER Funeral services for Iva L. Badger, 68. of route 2, box 680, Central Point, who died Thursday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Perl Funeral home. The Rev. Wil Ham McLeod, of the Catholic church, will officiate. Inter ment will be in Siskiyou Me morial park. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at P o'clock tonight at Perl Fu neral home. Mrs. Badger was born in Downing, Mo., March 4, 1894. She lived in South Bend, Ind., for several years before mov ing to Medford in 1931. She owned and operated a seam stress and alterations shop in downtown Medford from 1943 to 1948. She was a mem ber of the Catholic church in South Bend, Ind. In June, 1931, in Cicero, 111., she was married to Law rence W. Badger, who sur vives. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Mary Hess, South Bend, Ind. Casket bearers will be Marion Milledge, Clara Mi lan, Edna Rhodes, Blanche Pyle, Mary Jones and Jinney Blevins. Mrs. Tallman wis born in Umatilla. Ore., Jan. 16, 1870. In Pendleton, on Nov. 1, 1893, she was married to Joseph V. Tallman, who preceded her in death. Her entire life was spent in Oregon and she had lived in Medford for the past 2'j years. Survivors Include i son, A. F. Tallman, Medford, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Jo Rodgers, Tacoma, Wash.; three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. BAKER Ashland-John King Baker, 100. of 107 Fourth st., passed away early Saturday in a val ley rest home. Mr. Baker was born Aug. 24, 1862. at Frankfurt, Ind iana. He came to Ashland from Malin, Oregon In 1954. In 1883 he married Rosa Ben der, who preceded him in death 15 years. The couple reared seven children, four of whom survive. Survivors Include three daughters, Mra. Minnie Mc Clelland, of Ashland; Mrs. Elsie King of Meridian, Idaho, and Mrs. Avis Belnap. of Vale, Oregon; and a son Mack Baker of Klamath Falls, 13 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
