S B 4-11 NEWS Sawing Susans The first meeting of the Sewing Susans 4-H club was held at the home of Mrs. Jim Nisley at Applegale. The fol lowing officers were elected president, Marilyn Houser vice president, Ad r i e n n e Brion; secretary, Connie Bur rel; reporter, Barbara Mar coulier; game and song lead er, Alicia Elmore. Plans for future meetings were discussed and the next meeting was scheduled Feb 19. It will be held after school at the Nisley home. The members will start making warm-up articles. Twelve .lunior Engineers and Scientists Summer Insti tutes are planned in 11 stales this summer with more than 1.500 youths from almost all states expected to participate. Boll-Weavers The third meeting of the Boll-Weavers 4-H club was held recently at ,the home of Mrs. Arnold Paradis. The meeting was called to order by Mary Paradis. Mrs Wilburn Ward showed us the right kinds of pins to use for sewing. The meeting was ad journed and we Btarted mak- ine our slippers. Linda Rintz showed how to make pompons for the slip pers. Refreshments were serv ed by Marita Rictor. Cheryl Wieskamp, Reporter Lake Creek Swine Club The first meeting of the Lake Creek Swine club was held recently in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Walch. We had seven members this year. We have two new mem bers, Becky Walch and Tim mv Breeding. Election of officers was : held. Dale Johnson is presi dent; Timmy Breeding, vice president; Olen Walch, secre tary; Becky Walch, treasurer; Willard Walch, song and game leader, and Greg Walch, re porter. Our leader Is Edmond Plele, with coleader Mrs. Willard Walch. Visitors were Mel Johnston and Bruce Hanson. The meeting adjourned and refreshments were served by Mrs. Walch. Greg A. Walch, Reporter ' Flower Bugs The Central Point Flower Bugs 4-H club met recently at the home ot our leader,' Mrs. Wallace West. Our club was organized last fall. At that time we elected olf'icers. They are Jeanean West, presi dent; Cristy Doyle, vice pres ident; Marcia ' Miller, . secre tary; Cheryl Miller, treasurer; Pamela West, news reporter; Deborha Taylor, recreation leader. Mrs. West handed out books and phamplets on flower ar ranging and planting. We have had two work shops on mak ing corsages and tleing rib- j bona. We voted on having a j baked food sale some time in February. Refreshments were served by Cheryl Miller. Pamela West, Reporter Stage Road Blaiers The Stage Road Blazers 4-H club held their fourth meeting recently. We opened the meeting by having everyone name a part of horse then Andrea Char tier gave a report on the Arabian horse and Phil Ken dall gave a report on the thoroughbred. The meeting was held at the home of Greg Gratf. We got a new member. 1 lor name is Barbara Brooks. The next meeting' will he held at the home of Andrea Chartier on Feb. 16. We learned two knots. Sue Atchcrson explained them. For refreshments we had cookies and punch. Wait Side Beeiist The last meeting nf the West Side Beerics 4-H club was held at the home of Caro lyn and Dick Field, Feb. 6. The meeting was brought to order by Ward Conger, our president. We discussed a 411 window for 411 week during March. Then we had a film on Hercfords. The next meeting will he on March 8 at the home of Kathy Holmslrom. Melissa Watson, Reporter.
