Deputies investigate Burgfary of Mine Jackson county sheriff's deputies yesterday investigat ed Monday night's burglary of the Bristol Silica mine on Miller's gulch between Rogue River and Gold Hill. Thieves cut a padlock off a tool shack at the mine and took 50 feet of cable, a cutting torch, gas and miscellaneous hand tools, deputies reported. Amortization rates are: Douglas-fir, $9.08 per M board feel; ponderosa pine. $6.66 per M board leet; sugar pine, $6.13 per M hoard feet, and white fir and other snecies, S4.15 per M board feet. Amortization of estimated main haul road costs is computed on 80 per cent of the estimated limner volume, rne purcnaser may request that the contract provide for more rapid amortization of the estimated cost of the roads which must be constructed before normal loccine operations will he possible. The prices bid for stumpage shall ne considered as tentative rates subject to quarterly calendar ad justments upward or downward by 0.5 of the difference between the average of the monthly Douglas fir Region Indices, as calculated by the Forest Service or the Western Pine Association Lumber Price Index for the three previous months, and the following base in dices: Douglas-fir 9906(B); ponder osa pine 82.75; sugar pine 105.43; white fir and other species 92 98 (At. Such adjustments in the price for stumpage shall be applicable to timber scaled during the three months period following the quar ter for which the adjustment is computed. In no event, however, shall the payment rates for each quarter be less than the base rates as stated above. When the adjusted rates by species are lower than the base rates, the difference between the total dollar value of the tim ber cut at adjusted rates end at base rates will be recorded for each species. The stumpage rate for any species will not be in creased above the base rate until the subsequent adjusted rate above the bae rate for all species de velop an accumulated total dollar value in excess of the recorded accumulated difference for all species.
