The 1962 total was $194,597 compared to $684, 387 for the same month in 1961. Building permits from 147 identical reporting centers in Oregon totaled $14,415,099 in December, 1962, a 9.3 per cent Increase over December, 1961. Tho state total in Decem ber, 1962, Included $6,107,496 for 511 new dwelling units; $3,6i!5,2ie was for non-residential construction; and $4, 652,387 for additions, altera tions and repairs. The county court had ask ed County Purchasing Coordi nator William Cochran to ob tain production and cost fig ures on the farm property for presentation to the county budget committee. National average figures obtained from agricultural ex perts show average of 17,500 pounds of cabbage per acre, 9,000 pounds of tomato, and 17,000 pounds of potatoes. The county farm produced a total of 31,674 pc .ds of produce, according to Coch ran's figures. This includes cabbage, squash, tomatoes, po tatoes, turnips, carrots, cu cumbers, chards, on'ons and meltons.
