Forester Named as Banquet Speaker Corvallis - A Washington forestry leader. Charles R Cowan, has been named speaker for the 31st annual scnool ol forestry Fernhopper nanquet at uregon State uni versity, Feb. 23. Cowan is a Kirkland. Wash. consulting forester and re cently retired as chiet war den of the Washington Forest lire association. The Fernhopper Banquet Is one of the west's largest gath ering of foresters. It annually attracts about 800 Northwest foresters, loggers, lumbermen and friends of the OSU school of forestry. , The banquet will climax a day of forestry activities on campus including tours of fa cilities and reports on school of forestry advances and plans for the future, along with discussions on latest re search findings In forestry.
