Y.) be lieves Congress should con sider legislation to deal more strongly with strikes, includ ing possible government seiz ure of struck industries. Javits, whose state is being affected by a New York news paper strike and a longshore men's strike, said Sunday night that the government had "no effective national policy to deal with major strikes, or even national emergency strikes." "The Taft-Hartley Injunc tion just doesn't work," he declared. Javits said that "the fact finding technique, plus recom mendations for settlement" were other weapons which should be given to the Presi dent to help settle strikes. Ontario Man Dies Of Injuries in Fire Ontario, Ore, (UPD John Dillard, 78, Ontario, died at a hospital here Saturday from burns suffered in a fire at his home on New Year's day Dillard was burned when he got up to stoke a stove and his bedding caught fire Tues day morning. The $5.1 million viskrp! wna scheduled to be visited by SDecial technical maritime groups from 9 p.m. to noon and was to be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. A total of 9,502 persons streamed onto the ship Sun day and 7,078 visitors wore recorded Saturday. The vessel arrived In Portland late Fri day. The Savannah, which Is op erated by States Marine Lines for the 'edcral government, will remain open ' through Wednesday. It is scheduled to leave for San Diego Thursday morning. Sunday's crowd was the second biggest to tour the ship on the Pacific Coast. At Long Beach, Calif., 10,308 visited the vessel in one day. Mountain Home, Idaho, -(UPD - A military hearing Into the murder case against Al-c Gerald M. Anderson will be reopened again Wednesday morning, the Air Force dis closed today. Purpose of the reopening will be for the introduction of new statements in Anderson's behalf, including results of an Office of Special Investiga tions inquiry In the case. Since conclusion of ' the eight-day hearing at Mountain Home AFB last month, OSI agents have been working around the clock on the case and have administered a lie detector test to a civilian who has admitted the murders for which Anderson is charged. Anderson, 25, of San Diego, is accused by the Air Force of premeditated murder In the knife slayings here last April 9 of Mrs. Nancy Joy Johnson, 22, and her son, Daniel, 2 Vs. He was freed of a murder charge in Mrs. Johnson's death last November by a civilian court but was re-arrested by the Air Frce and charged with both crimes. Since then, a 22-year-old Boise laborer, Theodore Thomas Dickie, has confessed that he and not Anderson committed the murders.
