KSHA 860 KC Mine Ventilating' System Studied Carmichacls, Pa.-(UPII-Inter-rogators at a public hearing delving into the cause of an explosion that killed 37 men prodded deeper today into the operation of a ventilating sys tem at the Robena No. 3 coal mine. State Mine Secretary Lewis Evans and W. A. Boyle, act ing international president of the United Mine Workers, conducted the questioning at the hearing in the assembly room of U.S. Steel offices in nearby Carards Fort. Ro bena is operated by U.S. Steel. Both Boyle and Evans close ly questioned witnesses about the ventilaion process at the opening session Thursday. Boyle told United Press In ternational after the four-hour initial meeting that I e believ ed in the final analysis it will be proved "somehow" that 'he explosion Dec. 6 at the Frosty Run s-haft was caused by an interruption in the ventilation system. But he said at present he could not pinpoint the reason. GOLF GUGGUES BOOM New York-UIPII - The golf buggy business is growing at the rate of 10 to 15 per cent a year, reports the brokerage firm of Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenncr & Smith. Sales this year were about 20,000 at $800 to $1,400 each, with four manufacturers having 70 per cent of the business. About 28 per cent of fabrics used in the U.S. today are of man-made fibers.
