Dick Powell Under Heavy Sedation Hollywood - tUPH - Cancer slrickcn actor-producer Dick Powell was reported under heavy sedation Tuesday and growing weaker, but there were no immediate plans to move him to a hospital. A family spokesman said complications required the heavy sedation. Powell, 58, and his wife, actress June Allyson, and their two children recently moved from fheir spacious Beverly Hills, Calif., home to an apartment on Wilshire blvd. The veteran star was hos pitalized in September for co vall treatment of malignan cies detected in his chest and lymph glands. The spokesman said the treatment was effec tive. But last month Powell was hospitalized again be cause of back trouble. The spokesman reported the back trouble first was diag nosed as muscle spasm, but later the possibility arose it might be another malignancy.
