Mr. and Mri. Stanley W. Chriiianion war among iha guesti at a holiday party given lait Sunday by Robertson Collins for his friends and neighbors in Jacksonville. Mrs. Christianson, the former Mrs. Fay Peters, is particularly in terested in the historic brick building which Mr. Collins recently acquired as his home since her late husband. Dr. Stanley C, Peters, a dentist, at on time, used it as his office. Dr. Peters used the building, one of the most inter esting of the old structures in Jacksonville, for about 10 years beginning in 1935: his wife was associated with him as a laboratory technician and receptionist. Many Visitors In Hornbrook Hornbrook - Traditionally, the largest family gathering in litis area during the holiday season is that of the Bray clan, and this year was no ex ception as 53 members of the family assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henley Claw son on Christmas day. Coming the farthest dis tanco were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wells of Los Angeles, par ents of Mrs, Gordon Bray of Yreka. From the same area of southern California came Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schulto and children Pamela, Billy and Johnny, who are here from Riverside, Calif., and visiting Mrs. Sehulto's parents, Mr. j and Mrs. Robert Cummins. Other members of the family at the Clawson home were from Yrcka, Montague and Hornbrook, and, from Sacramento, a nephew, Mi chael Tyrcr. Arriving early in the week and remaining until Satur day were Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hutchlns and sons, David and Joe, from Los Angeles. They arc guests of Mr. llutchins' sister-in-law, Mrs. Alberta IluU'hins and children, Bob and Beverly. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Jacobs spent Christmas day in Chico, Calif., with Mr. Jacobs' daugh ter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pinkham. who have just returned from a sev eral months' trip to the South Pacific and the Orient. Another family reunion w;,s held Christmas day at the home of Mrs. Minnie Bloom ingeamp and son, Charles. Guests were Miss Elsie Blooni Ingeamn of the Bogus area, and Mrs. Blnomingcamp's three daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Cavin and daughter Janet of Hilt; Mrs. Murjorie Snyder and children Karen and Vic tor, and Mr. and Mrs. P.. D. Wyatt and Steven, Paul and Teresa, all of Medford. Spending Christmas with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Edwards, on Oregon road were Mr. and Mrs. Lo well Tinker and Linda from Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Tucker and J:hn. Christmas Eve, the two girls led a group of high school and upper grammar school friends on a round of carol tug. singing at the homes of neighbors and friends. Also at the Hutledgc home for the four-day holiday was another daughter, Mary I.ee. from Shc ramrnln. Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Parshall were Mr. and Mrs Fred Hart of Sacramento and Mr. and Mrs. Waller Simon of Montague. Calif. The three women are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boar had as guests on Christmas Mr and Mrs. W. G. Halter and son. Bradley, of Montague. The Hear s son. Leonard, spent the holiday In San Jose. Mrs. Grace Quigley was a holiday guest in Dunsmuir, Calif, ul the home of a niece and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Errol Miller, son Larry, und daughter, Janet, a student at Willumctte university in Salem. Mrs. Quigley accompanied Mr. and Mrs. William Aftring of Ashland to and from the Miller home. Mrs. Aftring is a sister of Mr. Miller. Steven's brother, Patrick, of Detroit, has been making his home with the Burkets since Thanksgiving lime and attend ing Yreka High school. Other visitors during Christ mas week were Mr. and Mrs. Hay Davidson of Portland who were en route to Costa Mesa, Calif., and Leland Maplesden of Medford who stopped in briefly on his way to Rod Bluff, Calif. The queen was presented an arm bouquet of red roses by her father on behalf of Cascade lodge, the Bethel's sponsor. Pins were exchanged by the incoming and outgoing honored queens. An addendum was present ed at the close of the cere mony by the members honor ing the Queen, when a gift from her line officers was presented. The retiring queen was then invited to join the circle of past honored queens. Refreshments were served by the Guardian council, with decorating in the Queen's colors, red, white and pink. Fogene Pen Women Sponsoring Contest Eugene - Deadline for man uscript entrants in the Kris Stokes Prize contest will be Feb. 1, 1063. The contest is sponsored by the Eugene branch of the National League of American Pen Women. The contest is open to all women writers in Oregon. Any unpublished fiction of from 3,000 to 5,000 words is eligible, but each contestant can enter only one manu script. There is no entry fee. The first prize is S25. and second prize is SI 5. Manu scripts niir1 be submitted without the contestant's name on the outside envelope or slory enclosure. A sealed en velope inside should contain the title of the story and the contestant's name and ad dress. Only the title should appear on the oul.sidc of the sealed envelope. This is a new program start ed just before the Christmas holidays which will be held each Sunday under the leader ship of Kenneth Thurston and Mrs. Merle Stone. New mem bers are welcome. The program for 1963 will start Wednesday morning with a meeting of the shuffle board teams under the leader ship of William Jones. The copper tooling class will meet in the afternoon, starting at 7 p.m. under Rob ert Africa. Thursday morning, January 3, the square dancers will re convene with their teacher and caller, Mrs. Gene Cham berlain from 10 a.m. to noon. That day at 1 p.m. the Senior Center orchestra will prac tice under the direction of William Pickcll. A committee will serve refreshments. The Senior center was es tablished for the use of any man or woman 50 years of age or older with free activities planned for each day of the week. These include travel programs each Monday, class es in Spanish, mosaic, oil painting, copper tooling, danc ing, games, and orchestra and singing for fun. New programs are added according to the requests of participants. There are no membership fees. James Walters Montague The Lutheran church in Yrcka was the set ting for the double ring mar riage ceremony when Miss Barbara Fuhrer became the bride of Staff Sgt. James Og den Walters Saturday after noon, December 8. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Fuh rer of Bad Hersfeld, Hesse Province, Germany, and the bridegroom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ogden Meyer Walters, Montague. Sergeant Walters was sta tioned in Germany with the United States Army for the past three and a half years and met his bride while there. After the holidays he expects to be stationed at Fort Ord where they will make their home. The bride wore a Parisian gown of white satin designed princess style with bouffant street length skirt. The dress, embroidered with sequins and beads, was worn with a bo lero jacket of the same ma terial with three quarter length sleeves and a stand up collar. The bride's waist length veil was held by a crown of green leaves and sequins and her corsage was two purple orchids. She wore white lace gloves and carried a white lace bag, a custom of her country. Her white satin slip pers were trimmed with rhine stone buckles and she had a lucky penny in one slipper. Miss Fuhrer was escorted down the aisle by her future father-in-law. The altar was banked with bouquets of while stock. Mrs. Robert Moore was the organ ist. Mrs. Robert Walters, ma tron of honor, wore the prin cess style gown which she had worn for her wedding six years ago. It was of blue crystaline with white lace overlay, three-quarter length sleeves and stand-up collar. Her accessories were blue and her flowers were pink carna tions. Robert Walters served as his brother's best man and the guests were seated by another brother, Gary Walters, Duns muir, Calif. Miss Fuhrer attended schools in Lengers and grad uated from Werratalgymnasi um, or high school, in Herin gen. She was formerly em ployed in a large department store, and also has been a model.
