charged a baby formula man
ufactured by the company re
sulted in convulsions that
caused menial retardation of
their daughter.

nating a $500,000 damage suit
brought by Frank and Mil
dred Cervo, parents of Jo
Ann Cervo, 10. A Brooklyn
Supreme Court jury was de
liberating the case when the
plaintiffs accepted the corpor
ation's settlement offer.
The suit charged that Jo
Ann suffered two convulsions
followed by brain damage and
mental retardation as the re
sult of feeding solely on
"liquid S-M-A formula" from
shortly after her birth in 11)52
until May 2, 1953.

suburbs of the Cuban capital.
Six of the wreck victims were
reported in serious condition.
