OREGON Passenger Hurt in Highway 99 Mishap A passenger suffered minor injuries in a two car accident on Highway 99 a half mile south of Phoenix Monday night, state police said. Betty June Peyton, 19, of 6120 Crater Lake highway, Medford, was treated for scalp cuts at Rogue Valley hospital and released, hospital attendants said. A car driven by Dorothy Ann Ward, 21, of 1368 Hilton rd,, Medford, and one driven by Roland Everett Peyton, 6120 Crater Lake highway, were Involved. That'i when Dora left me. My sister and I took care o the two younger girls, ana boarded the oldest with an elderly couple. She has just sottcn married and lives Utah. As 1 look back, I see that our trouble was partly my fault. I used to bribe the girls to spy on Dora and re' port her every move to me, I was Insanely Jealous ana unfairly lined up the kids against her. I'm more sensible now. Life has been hard for us both. know. I've asked her to come back and make a home again, She flatly refuses. Dora B. I didn't leave I was forced out by his poi toning the children against me. They sasscd me and had no rcsDcct. He actually order ed me to leave when one of them reported I'd been out with another man. It was true, but I hadn't done anything wrong. I Just needed some cheering up and I got it. That wasn't all. Between , Pete and his sister they hand ed me every kind of cruelty. They wouldn't let me see my children at first. Then, when they did, I was crushed to see how brazen and vulgar the girls were growing up. In the last year, however, I've been able to have a few heart-to-heart talks with my oldest daughter and she confesses that they really love me, but were forced to lie about me and to me. Also, he let me go to Jail four years ago on a contempt cnarge ior non payment of a Joint debt his and mine. No, I'll return to my children, but not him. The Council: There's one thing the Council becomes more and more certain of namely, there are always two aides. The format of this col umn proclaims this dally. So If Peter admits publicly that he made mistakes, can't Dora 'fess up a bit, too? What real ly happened during those 13 years of living together? How could children, for ex amble, be used as tools against their mother without her rais ing a finger to block it? A wife and mother has recours es. There are clergymen, law yers, policemen, child welfare authorities to protest to. Can it be that Dora was just a little bit guilty of Peter's charges? And have we heard the whole story about the jail episode? Most puzzling, how come ev erybody believed Peter and not Dora? Had she established a reputation for cheating? The usual pattern in domes tic upsets is to side with the molhcr, especially when there are young children. For mat ters to be so inside-out as here, there must have been some genuine provocation on Dora's part. Even browbeaten, brainwashed children would find some way to tell the truth, perhaps to a teacher or friend, to rescue their mother If she were the victim of a pack of lies. On the record, then, we say go back, Dora. Most Impor tant is a reunited home, de spite the bitter taste. Bad as things were, isn't this worse? Husband, wife, children under several roofs when they might try for one, again? This lime, the local branch of your Fam ily Service association might ."oversee" the behavior of all fur a period, because all have been injured by Ihe past. The children, In particular, have been damaged and tainted by "childish" parents. Time works wonders, Some people just grow older. Lucky ones grow wiser. The punched cards, which contain data comparable to notes on sheet music, arc transferred onto magnetic tape. The tape is then read into the computer's memory, where an electrical "loop" is formed to produce the musi cal tones.
