County Court To
Prepare lor New
Business Year
The Jackson county court
yesterday started to clean up
odds and ends of business be
fore the new court takes over
in January.
Only new court member,
however, will be Donald Fa
ber, Central Point Republican
who replaces County Commis
sioner Chester Wendt, Med
ford Republican who did not
seek reelection'. Faber has
been attending all of the coun
ty court sessions in recent
weeks and visiting various
county facilities such as the
juvenile detention home and
county farm home.
The court, minus Commis
sioner Edwin Taylor who was
attending a public lands meet
ing in Las Vegas, New., voted
to notify the bonding compa
ny that the Emigrant lake
concessionaire has not made
a final settlement with the
county.
Closes Concession
John Schmitt, Portland,
closed his concession after La
bor Day but still owes the
county 10 per cent of his gross
receipts for July, August and
September, or at least a finan
cial statement, Commissioner
Wendt said. No new conces
(ionaire has been found yet.
The county court noted it
has a number of appointments
to make before the end of the
montn. They include reap
pointment of Kenneth Pick
ens, Andrew Stephens and
Walter Garner to the county
salary adjustment or review
board, Arnold Bohnert' to the
county budget committee,
Robert J. Carstensen as coun
ty engineer, Elmer Donahoo
as veterans service officer,
William Manning as consta
ble, William Cochran as pur
chasing coordinator, Henry
Owens, Homer Jeffries and

case there is but 1 1 6th of an inch tolerance between the
plane and the load in its erector-trailer. One such loading
