Officers at Mountain Home AFB announced they will re cess their hearing into pre meditated murder charjei against A-1C Gerald M. An derson, 24, until they learn if 22-year-old Theodore Thomas Dickie will be allowed to tell his story. It was Dickie's confession to the knife slayings last April in Mountain Home of Mrs. Nancy Joy Johnson, 22, and her son, Danny, 2, that led to an Idaho court's freeing of Anderson of a civil charge he killed Mrs. Johnson. Anderson was held more than seven months before Dickie's confession brought his release by the civilian court, He then was confined under the Air Force charge. Fall Concert Set By Talent Groups Talent-The Talent Junior High school music depart ment will present its fall con cert Thursday, Dec. 13, at 8 p.m. in the Talent gym nasium. There are nine members In our club. Laura Ma Noble will give a cooking demon stration at our next meeting Jan. 12 at the home of Mrs. Ed Armitage at 1 p.m. Debbie Grissom, Reporter. Caruso believes. This does not mean leaaing is on the wane. Some sources in the field say that It now has reached an annual volume of a half billion dollars. Caruso said he thinks that equipment leasing activity is certain to grow, but the num ber of companies handling leasing may diminish. Early Arrival "Business expansion Is In the air today," said Caruso, manager of the Horton Equip ment Leasing Co. of New York, a wholly-owned subsi diary of Advance Industries, Inc. Horton was an early arrival in the leasing field, said Caruso, and some of its clients have been with it since the start. There can be plenty of prob lems in the equipment leasing field through rate-cutting, Caruso continued. He said he believed some operators were losing money, or at least fail ing to profit, by not looking ahead; they tried to shave their lease rates too closely in an effort to. build up volume. Steady Profit Policy He said the Horton opera tion, which was acquired by Advance in May, 1958, has refrained from going Into a program designed merely to build volume. It has made its policy one of steady profit, he said, and tried to maintain its customers list on a steady, continuing basis by maintain ing a high standard of serv ice. "You can break your back and get a tremendous vol ume," he said, "but making this isn't always the answer. Some who have cut rates to get new business have run Into the fact that financing costs money and so does administration." Caruso said he believed businessmen have long since learned to accept without question the value of equip ment leasing in many operations. Dolores Del Rio's Jewelry Stolen New York-tUPB-The nation's prime target area for jewel thieves - the luxury hotels near Central Park's plaza - re corded another theft today, a JZ7.S00 raid on the jewel box of actress Dolores Del Rio in her Hotel St. Regis suite. Police said Miss Del Rio believed the jewels were taken sometime Monday eve ning or early Tuesday morn ing while she was out to din ner and the theater with her husband, producer - director Lewis Riley. She discovered the theft at noon Tuesday. In the past few months sev eral hundred thousand dol lars of jewels have been stol en from guests by "cat" burglars at hotels near the St. Regis, including the Hotel Plaza, Hotel Pierre, and Essex House. The most recent theft was a $50,000 jewel robbery In the nearby Central Park South apartment of actress Joan Fontaine. Election Fraud Hearing Starts St. Helens - HOT - Opening statements were scheduled to day on a civil complaint charging fraud in the Colum bia county sheriff's race. Republican Roy S. Wilburn filed the complaint challeng ing a recount that gave the office to Democrat incum bent Spencer Younce by 40 voles. Wilburn had won by 100 votes prior to the recount. Wilburn charged that bal lots were changed, substituted and destroyed for the recount. Circuit Judge J. S. Bohan non is hearing the case.
