Add To Din of the tax witnesses bad squeaky voices, presumably as a result of squealing with outrage. Additionally, Ihe audience was composed of taxpayers. and the noise of their blond boiling added to the din. The petitioners at this hearing were uptet over the new rules for deducting the cost of entertainment as a business expense. They contended that under these regulations dining nut on an expense account would require so much bookkeep ing that no meal wnuid be complete without a certified public accountant. A requirement that busi ness be discussed during a business meal came under particularly heavy criticism. One witness said a restau rant in Chicago was offering tables with built-in tape re corders so that its customers could prove thev said what they said they said Revenue officials indicated the regulations might be mod ified to some extent.
