The estimated volumes are 7.640 M board feet of Douglas-fir; 1,860 M board feet of while fir and other species. The mini mum acceptable bid per M board feet Is as follows: Douglas-fir SIMM); white fir and other hpecies $525. This Includes the following rates, per M board feet for stum page, in cluding deposit for sale area bet terment: $3.00 base rate plus an additional $6.10 for Douglas-fir; $2.00 base rate plus an additional $2.45 for white fir and other species; and $0.80 for slash disposal for all species. The stumpaga rates pavable for each species will be increased by the amortization rate in effect for that hpecies when the unamortized estimated cost of the main haul roads has been amortized by timber scaled, The unamortized estimated cost is $125,254.00. Amortization rates arc: Douglas-fir $18.68 per M board feet: white fir and other species $7.46 per M board feet. Amortiza tion of estimated main haul road costa Is computed on 80 percent of the estimated timber volume. Such adjustments in the price for stumpage shall he applicable to timber scaled during the three-months period following the quarter for which the adjust ment Is computed. In no event, however, ahall the payment rates for each quarter be less than the base rates as stated above. When the adjusted rates by species are lower than the base rates, the dif ference between the total dol lar value of the timber cut at adjusted rates and at base rates will be re corded for each species. The etumpage rate for any species will not be Increased above the bHse rate until the subsequent adjusted rates above the base rate for all species develop an. accumulated total dollar value in excess of the total recorded accumulated differ ence for all species. Sixth Street Medford, Oregon Bank Customer Gets Deposit Slip After Hectic Few Minutes Elizabeth, N.J. - IUPD - The bank robbery might have been a pushover except for Robert Dischler, a young man with stars in his eyes who saw red when the heist threatened his wedding. He became furious when he saw the $1,600 he had saved for a nest egg dumped into the bandits' bag Wednesday along with $59,000 of the bank's money . . . before he had his deposit slip "I was just thinking about my $1,600," Dischler, 24, a service station attendant, said. "You can't get married without money, can you? I wanted to get my money back." Besides, he wanted some of the money to buy an engage ment ring Christmas present for his fiance, Loretta Her man, 21. Dischler became so angry Diamond Replicas On Display at Bank Throughout December a display of replicas of the world's most famous dihmonds may be viewed, at the East Jackson st. branch of The Oregon Bank. The display is the final event scheduled this year in observance of the bank 75th anniversary. Among the diamonds repre sented in the display are the Hope diamond, Orloff dia mond originally found in the early 1700's as one of the eyes In a Hindu idol in a temple in India, and the Culli- nan diamond which is 530 carats. There are some 30 dia monds in the display and per sons may view them during banking hours. he grabbed the 38 caliber pistol one of the bandits car ried, shot him in the stomach fought gun battle with the other bandit, and when all the bullets were used up, hurled the empty revolver with all his might at the flee ing robbers. Chases Bandits Then he charged them with his bare hands and chased them from the bank, one of them clutching his stomach where he had been shot. Dischler was not nicked in the flurry of bullets that fol lowed his bold move. But bank guard William Petuskey, 65, a former policeman, was wounded trying to help. A bullet grazed his head. He did not carry a gun because it is against bank regulations. The guard was reported in fair condition in a hospital When the two bandits en tered the bank, Dischler was the only man present. There was one woman customer, and three women tellers. "This is a stickup! Give us your money," one of the ban dits demanded. One stayed by the door, his gun covering the tellers and two customers. The other walked up to the teller cages wth a brown leather satchel. Tellers Surrender Money Sandy Miller, who has been employed at the bank only four months, quickly shoved her money into the bag. So did Mrs. Hannah Buz- zone at tne next window. When the bandit came up to Mrs. Martha Johnson, the tell er where Dischler was wait ing, he made his move. "I swung at him ... we both made it to the floor, grappling," he said. "He drop ped the bag and that money went all over the floor, "I disarmed him and I fired one shot at him ... in the stomach. With that, the other guy at the entrance opened fire on me and be tween the two of us, we emp tied the guns. "When the guy on the floor heard the click of my gun . . . that it was empty ... he got up and started to run away. I threw the gun at him. I ran after him as the other fellow ran out the door." Dischler said he would have chased them further, but one of them turned and pulled out a knife. "I backed away," he said. Minutes after the bandits had jumped into a car where a third man was waiting, po lice and FBI agents arrived. They started to take Dischler to headquarters to look at "mug shots" of possible sus pects. "Wait a minute," Dischler shouted. He dashed back into the bank. "I want my deposit slip." With a shaking hand, one of the tellers made it out.
