"Cy Association Hears Roseburg Doctor Dr. Charles Wilson from the Veterans Administration hospital in Roseburg, spoke to the board members of the Jackson County Tuberculosis nd Health association during recent meeting at the Rogue Valley Country club. In speaking on "Who'i Top Health," Dr. Wilson said that the nation is creatine prob lems by more health and that the people have to get to work and solve these problems. Ha pointed out that with the in crease in population persons also have a longer life expec tancy, and because of this aging persons in convalescent and rest homes need reorien tation. . He said many persons In the hospitals with tuberculosis and other lung diseases are there to stay until the end of life and need to be useful nd loved. Dr. Wilson said in soma cases it is possible to move chronic patients nearer home and it is possible other plans could be worked out. Ha asked the question "What do you want for your tubercu losis patients?" Charles Althafer. Portland. director of education for the Oregon Tuberculosis and Health association, was pres ent during the luncheon. Ha was In Medford to attend tha state convention of the Ore gon Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Grange News Greenhorn Grange Yreka - Lou Coles of Yreke was installed as master of tha , Greenhorn Grange in cere monies Dec. 1 at the Grange hall. . , . Other officers installed were Kermith Wheeler,. over seer; Mrs. Joe Lewellyn, lec turer; James Bevel, steward; n.ennem mey, assistant stew ard; Mrs. Coles, . chaplain; Mrs. Margaret Winterlini. treasurer; Mrs. Vayne Bala ton, secretary; Ray Wheeler gate keeper; Mrs. Brian Can non, Ceres; Mrs. Francis Schultz, Pomona; Mrs. Estel la Severns, Flora; Mrs. Ken neth Blcy, lady assistant steward; Willard Treeman, executive committeeman and Mrs. Kermith Wheeler, flaf, I bearer. - Vayne Ralston, district dep uty of the Grange and his staff put on the installation' work. The women who form ed the degree team were dressed in colored floor length gowns. Following the ceremonies Alvin Lewis, master of Po mona Grange and Gerald Eastlick, master of Scott Val ley Grange, were introduced,; by Ralston, Mrs. Ray Wheeler, grand marshal, for the evening pre sented a new Santa Claus suit, made by Mrs. Francis Schultz, to Mrs. , Joe Lewel lyn. The suit is to be used for the first time at the Christ mas program which will be given at the Grange hall Sa turday, Dec. 17. Gifts were presented to Ray Wheeler, outgoing master and to Mrs. Ralston, outgoing; chairman of the Home Eco nomic club, by Mrs. Schultz, the incoming Home Economla club chairman. Ralston . presented Ray Wheeler with his past mis ter's pin and Wheeler then gave his farewell speech, Lou Coles was introduced as tha new master and responded with a brief speech. Besides the two visitors mentioned earlier, Mrs. Viola Dale from Happy Camp was present and introduced. Roxy Ann Grange Roxy Ann Grange enter tained members of the Chet co Grange, Harbor, Ore., ort Nov. 16 with 26 members sb tending from Harbor. Under the direction of Mrs. Marie Allison they presented program of skits and read ings. Virgil Clarke, Grange master from Chetco, gave a talk on "The Grange s Stand Education." Mrs. Virgil Clarke who is Pomona f Oregon State Grange, gave a short talk. The Chetco Grange present ed each member Easter lily bulbs. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of an honorary mem bership to Webster Hlckle, who is 84 years old and first Joined tha Grange in 1897 In Illinois. He has been an officer substi tute for almost every offices In the local Grange, on tha building committee and a general helper since 1931. The next meeting of tha Grange will be Friday, Dec. 7, at 8:13 p.m. All women are to take pot luck refreshments. A program will be present ed during the meeting.
