Valencia lace trimmed the neckline and sleeves and the gown was designed with t chapel train. A pearl ciown held her elbow length veil and she carried a bououet of white spider chrysanthemums with a yellow rosebud detach able corsage. The attendants wore match ing avocado green frocks, the honor attendant in silk and the bridesmaids in brocade. Their hats matched their dres ses and they carried bouquets of yellow and bronze chrysan themums arranged with spike lets of wheat. The junior birdesmaid and flower girl wore avocado green velveteen pinafores over yellow nylon organdy and their headpieces were in yellow. They carried baskets of yellow and bronze chrys anthemums with wheat. Yellow and bronze chrysan themums decorated the church, and pew ends were marked with green bows. Mrs. Leslie Boardman furnished the wedding music and Mich ael Johnson sang the songs. The reception given by the bride's mother was held in the church rooms. About 100 guests attended. Mrs. Marvin Marshall and Mrs. Dorna Smith, both Jacksonville, cut and served the cake, and Mrs. Phyllis Wellis, Ashland, serv ed the coffee. Mrs. Alvin Sheperd, a sister-in-law of the bride, presided at the punch bowl, Oul-oMown guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Sawyer and son. The Dalles, cousins of the bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gault, Rostburg; Mrs. Myrlon Nelson, and Mrs. Leonard Hayes, both Port land; Mrs. Peto Thompson, a cousin of the bride, and chil dren, Renton, Wash.; and Miss Frances Rober, Portland. The bride and bridegroom have lived in the valley their entire lives. The bridegroom's parents were married in 1824 in Jacksonville. The bride attended Jack sonville High school and Emanuel Hospital School o Nursing, Portland. She is em ployed as a nurse at Rogue Valley Memorial hospital. The bridegroom, who also attended Jacksonville High school served for four years in the Air Force. He is a forester's Bide with the Uni ted States Forest service. The couple made their wed ding trip to San Francisco and Reno. The bride wore a beige wool dress with green accessories for traveling. The couple is living on Huencrs lane in Jacksonville. The couple is now living at 3213 Ocean Front Walk, Mis sion Beach, San Diego, Calif. The bridegroom is stationed on board the USS Henrico. The ceremony was read September 22 at Palm Springs, Calif. The bride is a graduate of the University of Toledo, where she was member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and more recently attended the Univer sity of California at Los An I geles. She is a teacher at i Clairemont High school in j San Diego. Sather, 509 North Berkeley Way, Medford, announce the engagement of heir daughter, Miss Christine Ann Sather, to William E. Turner, Klamath Falls, Ore. The bride-elect, a 1960 graduate of Medford high school, attended Southern Oregon college and is employ ed as a receptionist at the Medford clinic. Her fiance is a graduate of Klamath Union High school Bnd also attended Southern Oregon college. He intends to enroll at Oregon Technical In stitute where he will continue with his studies. The wedding is set for next summer. Bride - Elect Is Honored; e Visits Coup! Miss Merrilyn Peterson, Portland, bride-elect o the Rev. Ted W. Landers, former Medford resident and now of Portland, was honored at a bridal shower given Novem ber 8 af the home of Mrs. Herman Ekerson, 42 Grove land avenue. Mrs. Don Minear was cohostess. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. ami Mrs. Fred h. Landers, 840 Marshall avenue. The Rev. Mr. Landers and Miss Peterson were house guests for the week end at the home of his parents. The wedding date has been set for January 12 in the Port land Burlingame Baptist church, where the Rev.. Mr. Landers is now director of Christian education. For the shower the Ekerson home was decorated in a win ter theme with snow men figurines and snow bails. Flowers were white and yel low chrysanthemums. Gifts were presented on a toboggan. Refreshments also were in the winter theme. New Age Church Rites Wed Couple Shady Cove Miss Barbara Ann Lacy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lacy, Shady Cove, became the bride of j Jrs.e William Wehde, son of Mr. and Mrs. l.eroy Wehde, Trail, in 7 n'cloek evening ceremonies November 10. The Rev. D, E. Millard read the rites in the New Age church. Eagle Point. About 35 relatives attended. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore an ice blue lare frork over taf feta and her accessories were ; white. The matron of honor, Mrs. Larry R. Lacy, a sister-in-law, was dressed in a white bro cade frock with white fur collar and her accessories were white. Mr. Lacy servrd as best man. The bridegroom was grad uated in 1961 from Eagle Point schools. He is employed at Delah Timber Products company, White City. The bride also attended Eagle Point schools and for the past year and a half has lived in Oro'Hr, Calif,, re turning recen'ly to Eagle Point. Messiah Chorus Rehearsing Today In Local Church j Ashland The Messiah chor us, which is now rehearsing for the fifth annual presenta tion of Handel's oratorio, will j hold two rehearsals in Med ford for the benefit ot Med ford area residents who would like to sing in the chorus for this occasion, tt was announced by Director Herbert Cecil, chairman of the Southern Oregon college music department. Social Worker Slated To Speak David Ktihns, administrator of Jackson County Welfare department, wilt speak on "The Sects! Worker Looks at the One-Parent Family," Mon day, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. at a meeting of the Parents Without Partners club. The session will be held in the Medford YMCA social hall.
