I haven't seen the program yet, but I as s u in e that Whi President Kennedy will throw out the first stewardess, or something of that nature. The ceremony will be fol lowed on Monday by the offi cial opening which will make it possible for passengers to miss connections at an airport specifically built for jet age travel. A NEW WORLD FOR EDIE ADAMS In the past year, she has been widowed, waged a biltcr custody battle, resumed a career, fought self doubts, and now actress-comedienne Edie Adams sees life "leveling oft'' again. This intimate insight by Jack Ryan tells the story of Miss Adams awaken ing one morning as the widow of genius showman Ernie Kovacs, facing $2 millions of debts, fighting to keep her family together and her successful bid for a "second career'' and a new life. So this will be a big step forward. Dulles airport was built by the Federal Aviation Agency to provide Jet facilities for the capital area. I use the word "area" loosely. It li locatad about 2S miUi farthtr from iha capital than li the eld Washington National Airport. The simp lest way to gat from the cap ital to Dulles airport would ba to go to National airport and catch a plan. There Is no connecting air service at present, however, so when the FAA conducted a press tour at Dulles this week I drove out by car. Your first Impression as you approach the Dulles terminal is that the roof is sagging. I was told, however, that the late Ecro Saarinen, the termi nal architect, designed it that way. As I understand it, Saarinen wanted to give the building a soaring effect appropriate to its mission. In a pinch I Sup pose they could ground all the planes and fly the terminal. At elhar airports, pauen gars hara to walk (rom lha iarmlnal to tht planas. At Dulles, thay will rid in bus Ilk contraptions c a 1 1 d "mobil Ioungs," which hara lhir own boarding rampi. An FAA representative gave f By Jimmy Hatlo some of us newsmen a trial spin in one of the lounges and answered our questions about it. "Will it make comfort stops?" asked one reporter. "How many miles to the gal lon does it get?" inquired an other. Never let it be said that we journalists don't ask intelli gent questions. One of the press releases I picked up described the loung es as "revolutionary," and I'll agree that they will add a new dimension to air travel. Dulles will be the only air port where you can get to the terminal in time to catch a plane but miss connections with the ramp.
