Dr. Van Pelt is president of the British So ciety of Medical Hypnotists. practicing phychologist, and Dr. Clcatis D. Lemley, osteo pathic physician and surgeon of the Valley Medical Clinic, 3850 North Pacific highway, will lecture at the symposium of the World Congress of Medical and Dental Hypnosis Nov. 11 to 13 at the Flamingo hotel in Las Vegas. Dr. Lemley, the only en docrinologist among the lec turers, will speak on endocri- weight and hormone deficien cies. He is on a special panel to discuss the conditions of en docrinology and therapy of the autonomic nervous system with aid of hypnosis. Mrs. Reimer will teach prayer therapy, the power of words, and the patient and art creations under hypnogra phy. Mrs. Reimer moved lo the Medford area from Monrovia, Calif., after her husband, Dr. Arden R. Hedge died last year. Dr. Hedge was president of the American Institute of Hyp nosis. Both were proponents of the use of hypnosis for practical diagnostic and thera en degrees In its use. Mrs. Reimer recently mov ed her office to the clinic where she will be a practicing the faculty of the American Institute of Hypnosis and teaches doctors and dentists the use and purpose of medi- in London, France and South America and throughout the United States. Schools Schedule Open House In Education Week American Education week will he observed Nov. 11 through 17 at schools through out Jackson county. This marks the 42nd annual ob servance of American Educa tion week since it was started in 1921 by the National Edu cation association. Griffin Cratk Griffin Creek Elementary nchool will observe a "Lights on For Education" and open house on Tuesday, Nov. 13 be tween the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. Every room In (ha building will be open for parent's In spection. The children's desks will be marked and folios of Women Attend TB Portland Meeting Mrs. Fred Brennan, Jackson county Christmas seal chair man, and Mrs. Virginia Kyer, executive secretary of the Jackson County Tuberculosis and Health association, at tended a two-day conference on respiratory diseases re cently in Portland. A health information pro gram aimed at wiping nut tu berculosis and a study of other respiratory diseases such as pleurisy, pneumonia, asthma, cliinmc bronchitis, influenza and emphysema was dis cussed. A campaign will be ron riiiilrd in the spring through Ira (lets, pamphlets, newspaper arliilrs and other media to Inform the public of respir- aiory diseases such as em physema. Classrooms will be open from 7 to 0 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the cafe teria from 7:30 to 9 p.m. by the PTA. Thursday, Nov. IS, the How ard school and Howard PTA will sponsor an open house. Students will accompany their parents to Individual rooms by 7:4(1 p.m. where a short program for the stu dents will be given by the teachers. Parents will meet In the multipurpose room at 7:45 p.m. for a short PTA meeting, and an opportunity to see the bulletin boards on "Lights on for Education" and "Book Week". At the conclusion of the meeting, parents will re turn to their child's room for a short program. Refresh ments will be served by '.he PTA room mothers In each individual room. Child care for preschool children will be provided In the school gym. The evening's activities will he over by I) p.m. Phoenix-Talant The Phoenix-Talenl schools will observe American Educa tion week with separate func tions scheduled lor the various buildings on successive eve nings. The Phoenix and Talent ele mentary schools will hold open house on the evening of Thursday, Nov. is from 7.3(1 to p m. The Talent Junior llih school will he open Tuesday, Nov. 13, and the Phoenix High school on Wednesday, Nov. 14. General theme of these functions will he In acnuaint visitors with material to be covered in the various sub jects of the curriculum dur ing the school year. All teachers wi he nresenl in their rooms or departments to meet the parents. Refresh ments will be served at all schools during the visitations. Hosteller has been reassigned to the position of chief staff assistant for re source management in the dis trict, and will work in the fields of timber management, rehabilitation, protection, cruising and appraisal, plans and inventory. Other staff positions in Ihe district are engineering, really, and ad ministration. Assistant District Managers Carnegie, Jensen, and Sanger will be responsible for the south (Applcgale - Green springs), northwest (Glendale Galice), and northeast (Trail) portions of the district respec tively and will coordinate the technical activities of several limber and other resource management specialists. New responsibilities as limber managers have been assigned to Jack R. Mcrkle, William E. McLaughlin, Thomas W. Roesslcr, and Ro land D. Smith in the south administrative area; to Robert Mason, Dana II. Collins, Russell A. Johnson, and Charles II. Hurst in the north west administrative area: to Hugh R. Shera and William A. Cowan in the northeast. New responsibilities as re source managers have been assigned to Mark E. Law rence, Wilson E. Edinqcr, and Ernest D. Black in their re spective administrative areas. Schofield said the rear rangement of duties will t reamllne operations and will be especially helpful to the bureau in meeting the limber salvage and rehabilitation re quirements resulting from Ihe Columbus day wind storm. Hill, public utility com missioner has announced. The school tickets would be sold only lo students attend ing bona fide public or par ochial educational inslilulions up lo and including Ihe high school level or to college or university, for transportation to and from school. The fare revision was heard by the riJC in Portland on Sept. 17. District Court Jury Finds Wade Guilty Glenn M. Wade, route box .'IflS, Central Point, will be sentenced Tuesday in dis trict court for interferring with and opening a coin oper ated telephone in Ashland. A district court jury Fri day found him guilty of the charge. He did not have an attorney. Wade was arrested by Ash land city police who testified they watched as he tampered with the telephone in the glass booth on the Plaza, directly across from the police office.
