SUNDAY. Hawcs- Miss Dcanna Darlcne Cook became the bride of Ralph Edward Hawes of Roseburg In rites reaa Here INOVcmoer 3. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Cook, Hillcrest-Phocnix road, Med ford, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hawes, Portland, who were in Medford for the wedding. The nuptial mass was cele brated at 12 noon in the Med ford Sacred Heart Catholic church by the Rev. Joseph Becker, a cousin of the bridc eroom from Our Lady of Vic torv parish. Fresno, Calif. About 150 guests attended Mrs. David Gault came from Atwater, Calif., to be matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmatron was Mrs. D Lorin Jacobs, and bridesmaids were the Misses Martha Hawes, Roberta Hawes and Kathleen Hawes, Portland, sis ters of the bridegroom. Paul Hawes, Portland, was ' best man for his brother, and seating the guests were Monte Cook, a brother of the bride, Bernard Hawes, Portland brother of the bridegroom, Richard Long, Grants Pass and Thomas Kiefcl, Portland. Father Escorts Bride Mr. Cook escorted his daughter to the altar. The bride wore a white lace floor-length sheath gown with elbow length sleeves and full taffeta ovcrskirt which eraduatcd into a short train Large scallops .of the lace bodice formed the neckline and the taffeta cummerbund was held by a large bow at the back. Her sheer elbow- length English Imported veil was held by a rosette of pearls and crystals. She carried bouquet of white butterfly roses centered witn a corsage to wear for traveling. The attendants wore white brocade sheath dresses with taffeta overskirts. Their cum merbunds were wine color satin with large bows attach ed at the back and their pill box headpieces with float veils matched the cummberbunds Thcv carried nosegays of anowflake chrysanthemums and garnet roses. The altar flowers were white pompon and spider chysanthemums and ends of the family pews were marked with white bows. Miss Sarah Robinson played the organ music and Larry Wright and William Depncr served as altar boys. Mother Wears Pink For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Cook wore a dusty pink Imported cashmere sheath frock with white accessories Her corsage was of dusty rose chrysanthemums. The bride groom's mother was dressed in a gold boucle sheath dress with jacket and matching ac cessories. Her corsage was of copper colored chrysanthe mums. The reception was held In the Blue room of the Jackson House. While screens decorat ed in the wedding color theme with wine and white flowers formed the back ground for the reception tables. Decorat ing had been done by Mrs. William North and Miss Mar jory North. Mrs. Ronald Gandee, nun! of the bride, served the wed ding cake assisted by Mrs. Paul Parson. Mrs. Earl Purdy presided at the punch table, assisted by Miss North. The knife used to cut the cake was a gift to the bride nnd bridegroom from Miss Pauline Alderman, San Fran cisco. Greg Gandee, a cousin of the bride, had charge of the guest hook. Other out-of-town guests were Mrs. Georgp Bnrlow. grandmother of Ihe bride, and Mr. B.irlow, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. George GriKKS. Boi.se, Ida.. Miss Vivien Gregory, San Francisco, nutils of the briiir, nnd Miss Alderman. Jerry Dean Lambo. They are now living in Cambridge, Mass., after a wedding trip to Nassau, cap ital of the Bahama islands. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Pierucci, Havertown, Pa,, and the bride groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lambo, former Med ford residents now living in Ukiah, Calif. The ceremony was read at four o'clock in the afternoon, September 1 in Ebcnezer Methodist church in Manoa, Pa. About 400 guests attend ed. Miss Lucille Bisciottl, Rid ley Park, Pa., was maid of honor. Mrs. Robert J. Tawoda Ft. Monmouth, N. J., a sister of the bride was matron of honor, and another sister, Mrs. William E. Seymour, Broom all, was bridesmatron. Brides maid was Miss Sandra Pier ucci, Llancrch, a cousin. A niece of the bride, Cath- lcen Tawoda, was flower girl. Darrel Brittsan, Richmond, Va., former Medford resident, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Brittsan, 412 Manzanita street, was best man, He is a fraternity brother of the bridegroom, Officers Attend Dr. Pat Ferrara, Philadel phia, Pa., Capt. R. J. Tawoda, Fort Monmouth; and Capt. Norman Sparks and Capt. Wil liam Wix, both instructors at the U. S. Military academy at West Point, N. Y., were the ushers. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore an original Bianca gown of white pcau de soie with long train. Her three -tier bouffant veil was attached' to a headpiece consisting of a rose and sus pended petals. She carried phalaenopsis and catlleya or chids and stcphanotis. The attendants wore gold satin gowns and gold pill box headpieces. The reception for about 400 guests was held in the Tim bers restaurant, and a dinner nd dance was attended by about 140 guests. The bride attended Charles E. Ellis school in Newton, Pa., and the Square and Dean Junior college at Franklin, Mass. She has been employed as a secretary at Radnor Graphic arts. The bridegroom, formerly of Medford, holds a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State university and is attend ing Harvard university under Army sponsorship, studying ' toward his master's degree in i business administration. Congressman elect Robert B. Duncan will be guest speak er and State Representative elect James A. Redden will be master of ceremonies. The public is invited, according to Mrs. Frank Christian, league president. Proceeds cleared from the dinner will be donated to a United Na tions fund in memory of Mrs. Roosevelt. Among special projects now undertaken by the Eleanor Roosevelt league in tribute to the late First Lady's memory will be the enlargement and framing of a "favorite photo graph" given to the group by Mrs. Roosevelt a few years ago. Sadie Hawkins Party Planned The annual Sadie Hawkins dance and costume party for members of the Rogue Valley Country club this year is set for Saturday, November 17 at 8:30 p.m., at the club. Heading the committee for this "dogpalch" social event are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Con rad, general chairman, with Mrs. W. C. Tycer in charge of decorations. The coordinating committee are Mr. and Mrs. William Towning, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. McLaughlin and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Selby. Couple Married In Rites Held At Sparks Church Montague - Mrs. Betty Hod gen, Yreka, Calif., and James Carrier of Ti Bar were mar ried at the First Methodist church in Sparks, Nev., Sat urday afternoon, November 3. The Rev. Alan Terrill offici ated at the double-ring cere mony. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Davis, Little Shasta Valley, parents of the bride. The bride wore a white wool suit with royal blue ac cessories and her corsage was of white carnations. Mrs. Davis wore a brown and gold silk print suit with brown ac cessories and a chartreuse spider chrysanthemum cor sage. Following the ceremony the couples dined at Trader Dick's Restaurant. After a brief honeymoon in the Reno Tahoe area the newlyweds are making their home in Ti Bar where the bridegroom is em ployed as assistant timber manager in the Ukanom dis trict, U.S. Forest Service. He is a Pennsylvania Stale col lege graduate. Until her marriage Mrs. Carrier was employed in the U. S. Forest service office in Yreka. She is a San Jose Slate college graduate.
