The children will go to their Junior church chapel at 11:30 a.m. for their own ser vice. J. - She absolutely refuses to do a thing around the house. Helen J. - My studies come first. The house doesn't matter to me. Mr. I. J. - My wife and I put in a hard day's work. I run a haberdashery and my wife comes in to relieve me for lunch and to help out when I get busy. We have an 18-year-old daughter who at tends college. Everything about Helen is satisfactory except for one blind spot. She won't lift a finger to help her mother with the housework. Her marks at school are excellent, her friends are the cream of the nice kids on lap, she is re spectful and friendly towards us. But if my wife is late get ting supper, Helen would rather go without eating than start the meal herself. Her bed is never made. Her room looks like a hayloft. Whenever I remind her of her duty, she threatens to move out and go to live with her two girl friends who have their own apartment. Helen J. - I think I'm easy Lithia Church Plans Meetings Ashland - The Church of Christ, meeting in the Wom en's Civic Club house across from Lithia park in Ashland, is planning a series of gospel meetings. The meetings will start Nov. 25, with services each evening at 7:30 p.m. and at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. The series will end Dec. 2. Andrew House, Oakland, Calif., will be the speaker. Mr. House will also conduct teacher-training course for present and future teachers of Bible classes. Irvin Culpepper, Yreka, Calif., will speak for the con gregation on Sunday morning. Maybe all their friends are tired of hearing about me and the honor roll, so my parents want to brag about what a good cook I ami Well, they can't have it both ways. My courses take all my attention. Th Council: As consola tion to Mrs. J. and warning to Helen we venture to say that the latter probably wouldn't last long in her girls friends' apartment. She'd be back home fast, evicted for non payment of chores. There's a rude awakening in store for Helen because her parents didn't make it the gradual introduction to reality she was entitled to. She'll learn that it's thanks to some body's scrubbing that floors are clean, and somebody's planning keeps milk in the re frigerator and clean towels in the bathroom. These "con stants" don't just happen. At present the state of the house doesn't interest Helen, and the condition of her room doesn't "bother" her. But if she lived with strangers, or even alone, she'd have to maintain what average, civil ized folk call minimum stand ards of cleanliness and neat ness. Or else she'd be both ered by cobwebs, vermin and eventually a team of inspec tors from the Sanitation De partment. And if there's a Prince Charming in Helen's dreams, between book reports and term papers, he won't stay charming very long when he discovers he must put up with the tons of dirt and rubble which don't disturb her at all. She'd have to find a Sloppy Joe type to settle down with in a coalbin built for two. No, Helen. At present your parents' greatest and belated kindness to you would be in sistence upon your carrying out a few light, but Important, Big event! Baby tooth out!
