Pope, supervising architect for his toric structures. National Parks service, be advisor to the Siskiyou Pioneer Sites foundation. Her recommendation was mentioned in a copy of a letter to Pope. The copy was sent Jack Sutton, Grants Pass, Sis kiyou Pioneer Sites founda tion president. In her letter Mrs. Bullock suggested the foundation com plete a survey of Jacksonville and create an historic district. Much of the survey has been done already, the foundation members noted during a re cent meeting in Jacksonville. Mrs. Bullock wrote favor ably of her visit to Jackson ville and commended Mr. and Mrs. George Brewer, Jackson ville, for their care of the Beekman house. She noted the house was unusually clean and well cared for, particular ly the carpet. Another letter, one from Miss Irene Simpson, archivist of the Wells Fargo bank his tory room, invited Sutton to participate in a panel discus sion to be held June 20-22 at the ninth annual meeting of the conference of California Historical societies. Sutton is to discuss the operation of the Beekman house. Reindeer Expected In Medford Dec. 7 Live reindeer will appear in Medford Dec. 7 for the an nual Christmas shopping open ing, the Medford Chamber of Commerce office announced Saturday. Santa Clans, his sled and reindeer will be featured in a short parade on the streets of Medford at 1 p.m., Dec. 7 and will meet and greet the Rogue valley children on a big stage in Hawthorne park immediately following the pa rade. Here the children will be able to walk up a ramp, see and pet the reindeer and des cend on a second ramp. San ta Claus will also distribute favors to the children. Committee members for Operation Santa Claus include John Moffat, Ralph Jacobsen, Don Grosch, Mrs. P. F. Brain erd, Willard Shinn and Don McNeil. OBITPJARIES SOPHIA TEPOVAC I Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Tepovac of Gold Hill who died Friday, will be held at 2:3U p.m. Monday in Conger-Morris downtown chapel. The Rev. George Roscberry of the First Methodist church will officiate. Committal will be in Rock Point cemetery, Gold Hill. Mrs. Tepovac was born Feb. 10. 1889, in Slunj, Yugo slavia. She came to the United States 5:i years ago. and had lived in the Rogue Valley for 50 years. She was married Aug. 10, 1908, in Slunj, Yugo slavia, to Bozy Tepovac, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, John Tepovac, Kla math Falls, and Mike Tepo vac, Gold Hill; three daugh ters, Mrs. Ray Chamberlin, Mrs. Mary Jones, and Mrs. Vonnie Bowman, all of Med ford; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. WOODFIELD Graveside services for Mrs. Alta Knips Woodfield, Yaki ma, Wash., who died Friday will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Siskiyou Memorial park, with the Rev. George Roseberry of the First Meth odist church of Medford of ficiating. Mrs. Woodfield was born Nov. 23, 1905 in Medford. She was graduated from Medford High school in 1922 and the University of Oregon in 1926. She had been a teacher in De troit, Mich., and in Ohio be fore the family moved to Washington. Since that lime she has been employed by the state of Washington. Survivors include her hus band, George E. Woodfield, Yakima, Wash.; one son, Grant M. Woodfield, Ed monds, Wash.; three broth ers, Gilbert Knips, Medford, and William (Bill) Knips, Med ford, and Lester Knips, Lake side, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. V. M. Hall, Portland; Mrs. Charles Ward, Medford, and Miss Alberta Knips, Medford; two granddaughters and one grandson. Friday, Ronald Lewis Ansted, 535 Pearl St., Medford. report ed a man renting a belt sander had not returned it to Valley Rental. Friday, Vivian Smith Lob dell, 1007 Murray St., Medford reported the theft of a turkey, six or seven rump roasts and other miscellaneous meats from his deep freeze in the I garage. Total value is esti mated at $70. The Big Y Shopping Cen ter, Highway 99 North, appre hended two men on shoplift ing charges Friday and Satur day. One escaped. Store personnel reported arresting Roy Johnson, tran sient on a charge by private person. He escaped custody.
