Abb Gressett, Medford, is president of the slate associa tion and convention chairman. All business sessions will be at the Rogue Valley Country club and Thunderbird Lodge in Medford will be convention headquarters. Theme for the convention is "More Sales in '63" with four speakers scheduled on sales and public relations. AI Johnson, New York City, N. Y., director of trade rela tions for the National Insti tute of Dry Cleaners, will be among the speakers. He will talk on "Textile Standards Answer to Textile Problems," Gressett, co-manager and partner in Drive-In Cleaners in Medford and Klamath Falls, noted that cleaners are having increasing problems with poorly made clothes and low quality material. John son's speech might help the consumer to be more careful in buying clothes, he noted, lie estimated about 30 per cent of clothes brought to lo cal cleaning establishments are made in Japan. Route Volume Richard Newman, Bakers field, Calif,, one of Califor nia's most successful plant op erators, will talk on how to increase route volume and give ideas on routes versus stores. Paul Jacubson, New York City, N. Y., of the Wallcn sten company, will speak on the "Professional Cleaners vs. the Coin-op Cleaner." Other speakers will he Steve Carroll, Long Beach. Calif., on NID's latest pro grams; James Swindells, law yer, Portland, Oregon's new labor management act and its effect upon the dry cleaning business, and Doug Ramsey, Los Angeles, Calif,, of t h e Warco corporation, to speak on sideline extras. Gold and bowling tourna ments will be held for all those who register Friday morning, Friday niglil, a buf fet lunch and dance will be held at the Rogue Valley Country club. A style show and other entertainment will be provided. An installation banquet will be held at the country club Saturday evening.
